Awesome article! I think my favorite sidekick would have to be either Epona from Ocarina of Time...or Zelda at the end of Wind-Waker.

Crash Bandicoot and Aku Aku (<UGA UGA!)

That little freak of mask helped me through all of the crash games :P

I'm so glad Mr. Maple picked Elika... she is my favorite!!! I liked Diddy Kong too. I probably would have picked Earl for mine. I loved Toejam and Earl for Sega. It's one of my most favorite games.

I never really thought of Yoshi as Mario's sidekick because Luigi always comes to mind but its a good pick.
