Confirmed! Fourteen Games You'll See on Shelves in 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your pre-orders.

In light of recent game delays, (BioShock 2, Singularity and Heavy Rain were all pushed to 2010) we wondered if any other highly anticipated games would suffer the same fate. What's an obsessed game writer to do? Get on the phone and make a slew of PR reps cross their hearts and hope to die that these 14 games would be in our sweaty hands by year's end.

The only game I consider a must buy right now is Dragon Age: Origins. The rest are also good games for sure, but I personally have very fickle interest in them.

Ma~ybe Borderlands. I want to play Uncharted 2 as well, but I don't see myself picking it up until well after its release.

Edit: Maybe that Shadow Complex too. Looks a lot better than I thought.

for my 360, i'm going to be buying: forza3, splinter cell, halo odst, cod6, battlefield bad company2, saboteur, dragon age, borderlands(if it's coming to console) l4d2...plus i'm sure there's a few more.

and for my ps3: uncharted2 and mag look to be the only games i will be picking up. there mite be more, ill wait and see what comes out.

but as i always buy multi-plats for the 360, the ps3 has not much to offer me for the rest of this year.

i'm sorry i've offended a few sony loyalists on here with my post of what i'm going to be buying. especially with their claims of sonys exclusive superiority. for me that superiority only exists in the minds of fanboys on n4g. BOTH consoles have great exclusives. and this year,i personally think the exclusive line up on the 360 is far better than the ps3s exclusives.

unless sony drop the price soon....they are going to get thumped this christmas. and it's going to start in TWO months with the release of HALO odst.

After knowing about ODST I am still not excited for it because it gives me hope... sure it can be a good game a great game but I'd rather reserve judgement untill it's in my 360 or I've played the demo... unlike Uncharted 2 which I'm very much excited for because...

I usually find non-scary games scarier... for example fallout

9/10 of the time your in the day fighting some seven foot easy to see guy and you have a plasma gun and Tesla Armour but it's that 1/10th of the game the bits you don't expect the sudden change of pace which truly get's to me.

Uncharted was tons of gun fighting in the day then suddenly this dark level with creppy sounds, I didn't expect it and that's what gets to me.

Fallout is the most depressing game I've ever played. The environments are just so bleak. I remember going to Mine Town to do a mission for that annoying lady and I entered a house and it was the saddest thing I ever saw. The sunlight penetrated this deathly quiet house and all I could hear was the sound of static coming from the radio in the living room. And when I checked the house I saw the most saddening scene. The skeleton of the entire family was upstairs. A little child's skeleton lying on his bed in his room, and the parents' skeletons in the master bedroom. Just terrible. Made me shudder, I must say. Bethesda know how to suck the gamer into their world.

I'm gonna take a measured response to Halo: ODST and Borderlands, though.

Halo 3 disappointed me and Borderlands is one of those that's been in the pipeline for a while that it's either going to be good or barely passable. But I want both to be good.

And I'm glad that most of the other titles got pushed to 2010. I have 3 games that I bought in March I haven't touched because of no time.
