73% of music fans prefer CDs

Despite reports of - and some statistics suggesting - that downloads of digital music will soon make CDs obsolete, recent research says that 73% of music fans are still happy buying the physical format over MP3s.

The Leading Question, a media and tech research agency, and Music Ally spoke to 1000 consumers in the Speakerbox survey that looks at the current state of music consumption in the UK.

It doesn't have anything to do with ga,es... or even games per se.

However, it does tell us something about digital distribution which is directly related to gaming.

Besides, it's under TECH.

Why are there always complaints about this kind of stuff?

Where the hell was this survey conducted? Music stores?
I think that's the only plausible answer given the numbers.

(I tried to find out, it does not say where the surveys took place on any site)

Since the information regarding WHERE and HOW these surveys have been conducted is not given, these numbers are basically useless.

I'd like to know the criteria by which this survey classifies a person as a "music fan" as well.

Digital downloads are a long way off at changing the norm. People like too own physical media be it Music CD's, DVD's or Blu-ray.

Media is here to stay.
