Delusional Dell Planning a Smartphone

Dell, drawing perhaps the wrong lesson from Apple's astonishing success with the iPhone, apparently thinks it can just enter the smartphone space and come up with something that will capture the hearts and minds of mobile customers whose "massive needs" are not being met.

"There are a set of massive needs that need to be met that aren't being met by the traditional players that are out there today," Ron Garrique, president of Dell's consumer division told analysts at a meeting on Tuesday in Austin, Texas.
