Is THQ's chosen date for the PC version of Red Faction: Guerrilla going one step too far? Insensitivity, foolishness or genius? You decide.
We will decide.
This is a pretty low accusation on the article's part. I'm sorry to be blunt with people who feel 9/11 should be a hallowed world holiday, but to other countries, it's just a Friday and this is just another game.
If you met a women on a certain day, you shouldn't have sex with another women that same date? I'm sorry let me start over without deleting. Yes it was a sad day that will be remember forever, but you shouldn't pend any minor thing to this, that's a selfish act to you and those who were infected by it trying to move on.
It's not releasing on 9/11 in the US, and I'm pretty sure this is the exact reason why they're waiting until the 15th for the US version. I think accusing them of a PR stunt is too much.
September 11th 2009 is a Friday, Friday is normal release date for games in the UK. [/end]
Ignorant article: 0
So what nothing is aloud to release on 9/11 without being called insensitive? How stupid.
you mustn't have read the "left 4 dead 2 racism article", apparently we are all racist and valve 2 because they used black characters....as well as white ones....., now we just need to add being insensitive to our fast growing list of things society thinks is wrong with us.....i'm glad society is stupid because otherwise i'd be offended, and apparently america now owns september 11th, i wonder if they people complaining about this release date think of the native americans their ancestors killed when they eat their food on thanksgiving.....probably not....hypocrites
Stop treating Sept,11th like it's a national holiday, indeed it was a tragic day in the world's history, but comon now...
might I add... Stop treating it as an INTERnational holiday.
Holiday or not it doesn't matter business is business and it runs even on holidays.
Cool, now I get to look forward to 9/11.
People cant keep avoiding a single date like its a holy day for the rest of time just because of a terrorist attack 8 friggin years ago.
I didn't know that Sept 11th was a big holiday in the UK. First, its a Friday - the usual UK release day. It comes out on the 15th in the US, which is a Tuesday...also the regular release day for games. I think the author is searching for something that just isn't there.
Quite the stretch in order to drum up controversy (and hits) where there is none. I mean to my knowledge there are no planes flying into office buildings in Red Faction. If we're going to make a big deal out of a game with destruction elements being released on 9/11, we might as well make a big deal out of airlines offering flights on 9/11. Ridiculous.
...I'm sure someone in the PC community will use the new Geo-Mod 2.0 in this game, to recreate the event. I doubt they needed this stupid article...or a supposed "PR stunt" by Volition/THQ to think of the obvious Modding possibilities with this game.
Is making a lame ass article about RF: Guerrilla's PC date a shameless attempt for more hits?
if we cant release games on 9/11 then didnt the terrorist really win?
Thank you. The whole point of terrorism is to get people to alter their way of life. To live in fear. So on Sept 11 2009 I will have a quick moment of silence in memory and then I will go out into the world and buy stuff, drink, talk to hot girls and party with my friends. Bottom line: I will live my life the way I want. And God help the punk a** terrorist that tries to get in the way of my fun.
"will release in the UK day and date of the eighth anniversary of 9/11" Key words: IN THE UK. Not only is friday the normal day games get released in the UK, in the UK the date will actually be 11/9. I'm sure plenty of games are getting released on that day so stafoo already.
its almost as bad as when a black person is a game its considered racist. what next a game with a child in it is classed as for pedos
Almost. *edit* Just reread your post. Use edit button my friend. I'm a black person and not a game simultaneously. I tend to be one or the other.
If you go back far enough, every single day on the calendar had something horrible happen on it.
Can I ask something this may be stupid but I would never have linked the two. If I saw an advert for RF to be released on 11/9(proper) I would just say oh well ok then but NEVER would I think 9/11 and this game has destruction so I can recreate 9/11. If the advert showed the towers on fire then yes it would be wrong but none the less this isn't bad.
Umm wtf? So this day nothing at all can be released? That's like saying on Anzac Day no Australian game can be released, stuff happens, although a sad event it was 8 years ago! Come on seriously...
i certainly dont.
But they didn't. So whatever. This article is a bit on the meaningless side of things. Next.
Lame ..... This is just what you come to expect from these illuminati bastards.
