Blu-ray Disc has become the first high definition format to sell more than one million discs, a milestone it has achieved in less than a year. Blu-ray Disc sales also accounted for 70 percent of the high-definition movies sold during the first quarter of 2007, according to sales figures published today by Home Media Research.
The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.
Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!
The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer
Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱
Digital Foundry : Evolution Studios' Motorstorm is one of the first, finest and most fondly remembered of launch titles for PlayStation 3. It's a release designed to answer the question posed by each new console generation: what makes a game 'next-gen'? With its robust physics engine and massive tracks, Motorstorm serves up a bold affirmative answer to this question, delivering an experience that could never have existed on prior console hardware. At the same time, the path to release was fraught with challenges that almost serve as a microcosm of the PlayStation 3 release situation itself. It was a success, however, with a trilogy of PS3 releases, plus PSP, Vita and even PS2 off-shoots.
After Driveclub and Onrush, the dev team will now contribute to and assist with the development of the upcoming NFS.
Never really got into it myself I remember getting it with ps3 and being a bit underwhelmed I preferred the RC version they did for vita 🙌🏻🤣
While it's been on ice for as long as it was around, the Resistance franchise has no shortage of quality.
My take:
Single player
3, 2, 1
Multiplayer
3, 1, 2
Overall
3, 2, 1
I beat the lengthy single player in 1 multiple times and spent hours in the online too. Plus 1 featured my home town! Special mention to the audio design in 1: playing that with surround headphones blew me away.
Note: I have the platinum for Resistance 2.
I only played the 3 main Resistance titles. My ranking would be;
1. Resistance 3
2. Resistance: Fall of Man
3. Resistance 2
Man I loved 3's campaign. Another gem stuck on the ps3 and who knows if insomniac will go back to the franchise.
i'll be willing to eat my words if someone can show me a link to the contrary... but i thought that these sales were inflated by the free bluray's that were given away with the ps3? Specifically the one's that needed to be redeemed in Europe by registering with PSN...
I'm curious to see how bluray does. I have an HD-DVD add-on for the 360 (and will get the bluray addon if they release it... i don't feel like buying a ps3 or a standalone at the moment) and I'm very excited that the documentary "Planet Earth" is coming out soon... but I'm not convinced that hd-dvd will win.. nor am I convinced that bluray will... in time I'll probably have both players and I won't care... however, I did notice that HD-DVD has more of the serious movies while bluray has more of the lighter comedies and big action movies... so... tough to say who wins.
EDIT: tough to say, because while I tend to purchase documentaries and serious movies... the mass market seems to be geared towards lighter comedies and big action movies... so I'd probably lean towards bluray winning, but I prefer the selection on HD-DVD (I currently have on HD-DVD: March of the penguins, King Kong, Land of the Dead, and We were Soldiers... i'm getting Planet Earth when it comes out... if you haven't watched it on Discovery channel... put down the video games and watch it!)

Kids Go Santa! [Jesus looks at them] Uh, go Jesus!
[Jesus and Santa fight more, Mortal Kombat style.]
Now s/Jesus/BluRay/g s/Santa/HDDVD/g
(Thats replace the word Jesus with BluRay and the word Santa with HDDVD for the regular expression impaired)
Instant news! :D
I know who I want to win this, but at this point, its all conjecture.
Don`t try to spin it up.
it makes ya look foolish,
