Well, it's not an interview with an actual space marine, but Gamereactor caught up with Chad McFarlin outside the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine booth at E3 to talk about Relic Entertainment's next big console title.
I used to play Warhammer 40k back in the day. I did it all, collected as many armies as possible, pained them, made scenery, you name it. I still have most of my armies packed away in boxes. Just not enough time for this hobby anymore. There is so much history and backstory here. I hope they really focus on getting the feel of the universe and do this game right.
Warhammer 40k is one of the best universes out there, the only problem is that Gamesworkshop is wasting it. The hobby is overpriced, which is one reason I stopped playing, and i'm been playing since 2nd edition. I hope they don't milk the game like the madden series, Downloadable content is the way to go as long as they keep the pricing fair. I believe it would have to support customization of armies, especially for marine players. I don't know about the rest of the 40k community but i'm sick of ultramarines.
2nd edition is where I stopped playing too. I think it became all about the money to GW after 2nd edition. Ditton on the Ultramarines. Hopefully this will feature an unheardof chapter based on Blood Angels.
