Capcom: No plans for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom XBLA/PSN port

There are no plans for an Xbox LIVE Arcade or PSN version of upcoming Wii-exclusive fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, producer Ryota Niitsuma said that because the game is optimised for the Wii, Capcom would be better off developing a sequel for XBLA and PSN than spending the time on a port.

How about you start buying the Wii games you want FOR THE WII!!

Seriously everyone says there's not enough hardcore games to justify getting a Wii but everytime a Wii game gets released they beg for it to be released on their console...

Christopher5819d ago

I barely justify having my 360, I just can't justify a Wii. I don't have enough time to play on all 3 consoles. So, if I see a game I want, I will beg for it to come to the PS3 or the 360 so I can play it rather than buying a Wii for the very few games each year that they put out of value (literally talking 2 to 3 games a year of value to me).

Hopefully if others like me want it on other consoles they'll see that as an opportunity to expand their game and reach a new audience.

IdleLeeSiuLung5819d ago

The fact is a retail release would fetch a lot more profit for Capcom than a DLC. Both MvC2 and SSF2T HD is $15. That is a freaken steal!

ChickeyCantor5819d ago

" I don't have enough time to play on all 3 consoles."

What would be the difference in
1: Playing it on your Wii
And
2: Playing it on your PS3/360?

How the hell does 3 consoles eat up more time?
Its not like if you are multitasking playing the PS3/360/wii at the same time

Carl14125820d ago

I thought all Capcom games were supposed to be multiplatform now? Or Capcom said they would be anyway...

TheColbertinator5819d ago

Capcom is a whore who always jumps on the money train so it could come to PSN/Xbl

Myst5819d ago

Nope, Tri~ confirms this. Unless Capcom is becoming a company where it will do "timed" things where they will release it through 360 and PS3 then drop it onto the Wii or Vice versa, Wii to PS3 or 360.

Nitrowolf25819d ago

actually the said for PS3/360
i dont recall them saying it for the Wii

ReaperXL75819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

The problem is that there just insent enough for the hardcore to truely justify the purchase of a Wii. When Nintendo releases a hardcore game they act like they are bestowing some great gift upon us and we should be greatful of their generosity.

Sony and MS both focus on the hardcore far more than Nintendo has for a very long time, and quite frankly I don't know if their are enough Wii owners of the right type to truely enjoy a game like this, the Soccer moms, grandma, and children will have little clue who most of the capcom characters are in this game, let alone the Tatsu side.

I really hope this game sells well because it deserves to. Lets face facts though, This is probably a bit too hardcore for the average Wii owner.

Xander-RKoS5819d ago

Completely depends on your definition of hardcore.

Goomba125819d ago

You also know this was made for the arcades, just happens that the machine int eh arcade was a Wii.

Gamer_Politics5819d ago

well its exclusive for wii and it should stay that way....

sajj3165819d ago

Don't see it happening until late this year, early next year. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is due soon and don't want to take thunder away from that, considering Capcom is trying to sell Marvel on a 3rd title.

The Wii is 15, so here’s 15 Wii games that deserve Switch ports or sequels

For the Wii’s 15th birthday, here’s a list of 15 Wii games that deserve ports or sequels.

Have you jumped ship from Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite?

Are you one of the understandably many who has sworn off MvCI because of how it's being handled? Or are you still interested in giving it a shot purely on its gameplay?

I absolutely can not get over how bad the art direction is.

DaFeelz2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

The art direction is indeed horrendous. I'm switching over to that new DBZ fighter. Which is the 1st time I've ever seen a DBZ game look EXACTLY like the cartoon. The reviews MvC are gonna have to be stellar for me to even consider it. Right now, MvC is a definite maybe but, probably not.

gangsta_red2911d ago

Agreed, I thought the art was bad in SFV, this is beyond that in every way. And the gameplay looks slow to boot.

Not to mention reading all the noob friendly combos Capcom is incorporating into this game. I just don't understand what these guys are doing.

3-4-52910d ago

Yea the Art Direction is enough for me to not want to play it.....as petty as that sounds, I just can't really get into it.

I like the brighter colors and style of the 2D sprites of older fighting games.

King of Fighters 13 was a beautiful modern 2D sprite fighting game that showed it can be down in the modern gaming era and still look good and be appealing.

* Capcom has lost their way in the fighting genre when it comes to art style and character design.

Whoever is in charge over there has poor taste.

Der_Kommandant2911d ago

I can't wait to never play this game ever.

Ethereal2911d ago

I was a bit disappointed with the demo. The art direction is one of the reasons I loved the series. It always looked so awesome to see animated sprites that looked right out of a comic book. Even MVC3 had the comic book appeal. Honestly, I am with everyone else, that DBZ fighter looks amazing...

DELTABOY042911d ago

character models for some of them are not great but the gameplay is solid af..the infiniti gem system is great and at least it has some type of story...but i understand the disappointment..no spiderman/xmen is terrible also

georeo2911d ago

How come they don't have xmen/Spider-Man?

Servbot412911d ago

Spiderman will definitely be DLC, but no X-Men is because Disney is desperately trying to make the X-Men brand less well known so they can (eventually) snag back the movie licenses from Fox. Obviously it's not working, because both Deadpool and Logan are up there with current MCU movies, Logan probably being better than most. If Fox can keep up this quality (which, knowing Fox is always a 50/50 chance) there's no way they'll be getting those rights back for cheap within the next two decades, if not longer. They'd be better off collaborating and making money now, than trying (and failing) to get the rights back before the superhero movie genre dries up.

Injusticewarrior2911d ago

Fox/Sony own the rights. Not marvel/Disney.

Enigma_20992911d ago

Spider-man's not in it?!?!?!

... F*ck this game.

TheOttomatic912911d ago

Jumped ship is going a bit too far but after that demo I am very cautious to see how the final product is. Will wait for feedback before I Purchase said product.

Would have been cool for Capcom to make a sequel for this game on Switch.

FallenAngel19842981d ago

It'd be hard for Capcom to reacquire the Tatsunoku license, and especially to localize a potential sequel
