Has anyone played it yet? ... Worth a purchase?

velaxun5502d ago

oh yes. I'm playing on PC and it's simply beautiful, runs well too, even on an e6600 2.4 ghz and 8800gt, 1280x720 aand everything on high. Stable frame rate ~30fps so it's good. Fun as hell but a little hard imo

Playing it on PS3 and cannot get enough of this game, its the best game right now. Multiplayer is frikin addictive. I have been playin it for hours on end and there are some very cool online modes you can play. Playing online will earn you cash and unlockable characters with stronger weapons and different styles. Its the best western game ever! You can hold out for Redemption, but that would be a huge mistake. That game aint coming out till the end of the year. This is an awesome summer game. The single player campaign is fun as hell too. From the scenery of the old west to the addictive gunplay. Its well worth your money and has LOTS of replay value. Do not miss out on this one people. I like this better than any of the MOH or COD games!

im holding out for read dead redemption. THAT looks beautiful. i can definitely wait that long.

Troll-Killer5502d ago

...you need to play both.

And RDR can't hold a candle to COJ:BIB, in the graphics dept. Techland's lighting alone gives them the upper hand.

but in my opinion the first Red Dead Revolver was an amazing western title and i like it better then the first call of juarez easily just saying

I have it on the PC, and the game is fantastic! WAYYYY better than the last one, and the last one was fun as hell too!

And yes, the game looks good, but it could have looked hella better if not for the crappy console pop-in and low texture resolutions on the landscaping at a distance.

Whatever, the game is fun regardless. And eventually someone will make a high resolution texture pack for it.

Managed to snag a copy from Sears for $30 and I couldn't be happier with it!

Video Game Music Spotlight #1: The Old West

VGChartz's Taneli Palola: "Each of these articles will be centered around a specific theme, whether that's a style of music, a specific console, or just something completely different. Also, at the end of each of these articles, I will pose a video game music related question on something usually related to the theme of the article, which you can answer in the comments below if you so wish. Each article will highlight between five and ten different tracks from various games, in no particular order.

With that in mind, let's start with a theme that's quite timely and relevant right now thanks to the recent release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The American old west has inspired countless different video games and produced some amazing pieces of music over the years, so let's have a listen to just a few such tracks."
