Zen Studios has announced that its Marvel Comic-inspired first person shooter The Punisher: No Mercy is now available on the PlayStation Store in both North America and Europe for $9.99. This announcement comes despite earlier reports from the studio that the game would be delayed in Europe.
The publisher also announced that a free demo of the game will also be available to download on the PlayStation Network from today. The demo will allow players to "sample the fast-paced action of the Marvel Comics-inspired first-person shooter with two of the eight levels from the original version of the game."
The complete history of Frank Castle's The Punisher in video games.
Joystick Division looks at ten moments in video games that straddle the line between enhanced interrogation and torture.
Gamer 2.0 writes: "The Punisher: No Mercy is Marvel's attempt to release comic inspired games as downloadable content. While The Punisher in itself is a dull character to completely base an entire game around, this PSN title does nothing to change the feelings towards him. With a boring single player mode, repetitive gunplay and serious, serious bugs and glitches that hinder almost every aspect of the game, The Punisher: No Mercy feels almost like an unfinished product that was released for the sake of trying to cash in on the popular Marvel names."

This game is an insane bargain. Story mode, co-op AND competitive online multiplayer all for a 6th of what you would pay for a normal game.
