Considered by many to be the best of what he does, Uematsu has composed music for games such as Final Fantasy in the past, and now in a short video, and full interview talks about the music for his upcoming game Blue Dragon. Uematsu also reveals how he became involved with Super Smash Bros. Brawl. An interesting tale indeed, just part of the interview:
"XE: What is your favorite piece of music that you have ever composed?
Uematsu:If I have to pick one, it would be "Kiss Me Goodbye". There is a person who introduced Angela Aki to me, and we went to Square-Enix, and she was playing the piano, and I got a big chill. I was so emotional about the song, and I thought it was going to be a big hit, so that song we made for Final Fantasy XII is a great song."

Destructoid: I remember where I was when Blue Dragon was announced. Although I already had an Xbox 360 and was ready for it, some folks I knew bought one just for it given who was involved (Nobuo Uematsu, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Akira Toriyama): as Mistwalker and Microsoft Game Studios made a mad dash to put out more games from Japanese studios on the Xbox ecosystem.
