New PSP? Yep, it's a Go

NextGen Player writes:

"Make no mistake, this year's E3 Expo was full of surprises. But for every surprise there was at least one leak, including perhaps the worst kept secret of E3 '09 -- the PSP Go. Ironically enough, the source of the leak was Sony's own June issue of Qore that tipped off mainstream game media and set the blogosphere on fire. Sure there were indications that a new handheld was in development even before this video surfaced, but the Qore issue confirmed our suspicions.

So now that the word is officially out, I thought we could take a look together at just what this new device will offer."

with some iphone like aps, then i would get it.otherwise i see no need to retire my 3000

KingHippo195843d ago

From what my insiders at Sony have told me they are planning on adding apps to the PSP Go.

clixx335843d ago

Good, 'cause it's not even targeted to you... It's for the people who have yet to buy a PSP and are looking for a less bulkier way to travel with it.

I couldn't agree with clixx33 more.

Ok guys look; lets keep everything in perspective here. You have the PSP-3000 that won't be discontinued and the new PSP Go. I believe Sony is trying to have the PSP-3000 battle the DSi and the PSP Go battle the Ipod. Don't forget guys, a 16GB Ipod is $299, $50 more than a PSP Go. Buy.com has a 16GB M2 card for $60. So for $310 you can have a 32GB PSP Go, $10 more than a 16GB Ipod.

Sony has realized how much Apple is making with people playing games on their Ipod and Iphone, Sony naturally wants a piece of the pie. So off the back people who do not have a PSP currently might consider getting a PSP Go. The people who DO have a PSP currently will need to be further convinced.

I think if Sony did their version of the Apple's App Store to put in the PSN that would convince people to upgrade.

I’m an adult hardcore gamer and tech geek with a job so I will be getting it anyway…LOL

so i would use it as a ipod and the upcoming video games are insanely good and the size of it is similar to an ipod so it wouldnt be a bulge in your pocket like the older psp (cuz theres not too much space left in my pants) rawr
but the only reason i can think to not buy it is the price
$250 is way too expensive for my budget

PinkUni5842d ago

they still havent got any apps for that thing and yet its a much more powerful system

i could really use a word processor or a drawing app

having the ability to use bluetooth for either headphones or for my car stereo is awesome! too bad it's out of my rice range :(

Cyrax_875843d ago

Yeah, gotta hate that rice range, eh? =P

evilmonkey5015843d ago

rice does it take to buy one?

xman065843d ago (Edited 5843d ago )

Cyrax that made my whole day a lot better

KingHippo195843d ago

Not quite sure what the rice to dollar ratio is but I assume it's quite high. The PSP Go probably costs as least a potato sack of rice.

Johnny Rotten5843d ago (Edited 5843d ago )

I'm currently laid off so ya I'm out of the "rice range" and ramen noddle range! Give it time and I'll picking one of these up... just not now!

doesn't mistakenly pre announce new hardware. It was intentionally leaked early to create buzz for Sony during e3. Did it work?

Mr Face Creamer5842d ago

Just gave writers and journalists more time to produce PSP Go bashing articles.

I am LOVING the size of this thing. SO much smaller and more portable. Cant wait!!!
