Xbox 360 beta taking place, but what's being tested?

Console Monster writes: "If a certain achievement page appearing on a number of Xbox.com profiles are anything to go by, it seems an Xbox 360 beta may be taking place. At the time of writing, four profiles (who won't be identified to prevent them from receiving an inbox full of "OMG wut iz dis beta!?!?") have the beta appearing on their recent games. Whilst the achievement page for the beta doesn't give much away, it's the achievement image which appears to be the more interesting.

Designed in a style we are very much used to, possibly the most interesting thing about the image is the "09" positioned at the bottom right hand corner. An Xbox 360 beta in 2009, four years on from the console's release? What is Microsoft up to? Are they testing out the new social networking features on the Xbox 360 or is it something bigger...?"

@1.2: lol, well I have been in a few beta's both open and closed on the 360 and never seen or received an achievement like that.

I was thinking it was from the Bandaroo(sp) Music Festival they look awfully familiar.

You may have read something german, because the Beta symbol resembles a symbol which is sometimes used in german to replace two consecutive S's.

Hmm, well we know that the Halo Reach beta will be coming with Halo 3 ODST and there is also the upcoming Facebook and Twitter functionality, so my guess is that it probably has something to do with one of those.

Well think about it sony is gonna release a big firmware update holiday 09, So microsoft has to have something my guess is since facebook and twitter have been announced. They seem like the best possible answers since its simply something that can be easily downloaded from a code. Or yet again their trying to greatly expan the xbox 360 interface. Their is one more thing awhile ago like 2 maybe 3 months ago microsoft announced a new program for the xbox 360 that will allow anyone on the xbox 360 to make really simple games on their console. I forget the name but i think this could be a very likely one since we did`nt hear anything at E3. It might of been at GDC it was announced.

Halo will never meet or surpass the bench marks of such fps games as half-life 1&2, Doom, Quake, Unreal tournament. Those are just what i think to me halo has shown nothing new just a fun multiplayer for newcomers to the FPS gener.

Half-Life 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but what makes it so good is mostly the narrative and the variety of gameplay. The actual shooting mechanics are better in Halo. They are both two of my favorite games.

If you look the logo is a b and the bottom loop of the b also forms a p, big park. So my guess is joyride the avatar racing game

Halo is the greatest game of all time, also the greatest francise and trilogy every created in gaming history, no game can stand up to Halo nor can they surpass it. Every single game hails down to Halo.

Infact Halo, single handedly massacred Sony. Halo was the death of Sony, a successfull gaming company put down to its knees just by one game.
