Eduardo the Samurai Toaster Review at CheatCC

CheatCC says, "Eduardo the Samurai Toaster gets high marks for originality in style and visual appeal, but in the end it's a mostly uninteresting and repetitive shooter. There are some bright spots to be found in the level design, and the controls and game construction are spot on. However, it just has so little to offer, especially for an $8 WiiWare title. It will take you little more than an hour to run through the entire game, and once you're done, that's it - no editing features, no extras, and certainly little reason to go back."

This is a strange little game. There is sooo much opportunity for so many different additional gameplay elements that it is kind of sad to see what the game offers. The art design is some of the coolest ever, the music and multiplayer are great but there seems to be something missing like story, unlockables, progression, and as the author mentioned- editing modes. But, it was worth it to play a Contra style shooter as a toaster with the girlfriend for a little bit.

Speaking of which, for being a SAMURAI toaster, Eduardo sure does do a LOT of shooting. I would've loved to see some variation in cord-chop moves. I recommend people buy the game and enjoy what it has to offer- the art and overall design are great, kind of reminded me of LostWinds. Plus, if it doesn't sell enough we won't get the sequel that this one should've been

Nintendo Okie: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster Review

Nintendo Okie writes: "Every once in a while a game comes along where just based on the title alone it seems like a homerun. Eduardo the Samurai Toaster is one of those games. Come on, you're a toaster who's a samurai. How could that not be cool? I can honestly say though, that after playing this game it does not live up to expectations."

BM: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster Review

Blast Magazine writes: "It is a shame that Eduardo the Samurai Toaster is not a great game, because Semnat Studios has a lot of talent on display in the audio and visual departments, and they also made it control as well as any of its predecessors in the genre. While those things on the periphery are in place, the core game itself is lacking. At just $8, it is not painful to your wallet, but you would be better served with the established classics in the field that are available for the same price on the same system".
