Crystal Dynamics Working on AAA Game

SKOAR! writes "Although no new projects have been announced by the developer, a recent job post by shows that the company is back working on a game and is on the hunt for a senior art director for a prestigious AAA franchise."

morganfell5854d ago

I don't know either but the story of Raziel was certainly wrapped up. Best voice acting in a game series ever.

Skoar though is another one of these pop up sites that doesn't understand a game can't be a AAA title before it is released. A game may have AAA production values but you don't get that after laying off over a third of your company.

xabmol5854d ago

Ya, that really annoys me.

How the F do they know it's a "AAA" game?

They're working on a game in an AAA franchise.

This is usually a well known, high selling franchise, like halo, gta, mgs, mario.

I seriously wonder

Kain is inbound I hear...

callahan095854d ago

God I hope so.

I also REALLY hope for a PSone Classics release of the original Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen and Soul Reaver games on PSN. I loved those games. The most important for me, though, is Blood Omen. I feel like I was one of the lucky few who got to appreciate and love that game before the Soul Reaver half of the franchise even existed. I got Blood Omen when it first released and thought it was the greatest thing since A Link To The Past. It's still my favorite in the series. Wonderful voice acting, great story, amazing game design. Such a great game. It could really benefit from being re-released so that it doesn't rely on the disc-read for loading everything. The one flaw in that game was the ridiculous long load times. The PC version was great because it eliminated the load times, but my Vista won't run it :(

Aaah, memories. I remember writing a letter in to PSM back when their first issue came out with Final Fantasy VII on the cover. It was the first time I ever wrote in to a magazine, and I wrote to say how much I wanted a Legacy of Kain sequel! I never thought I'd get one, and then Soul Reaver was announced a while after that, and I was as happy as could be.

I'd love it if someone would make a PSN / XBLA sequel to Kain's story, or perhaps even a full-on HD remake, and retaining the hand-drawn 2D top-down graphics. Oh yes. I can dream.

I wouldn't complain about a Legacy of Kain new game. Actually I'm hoping for it since E3 2006 to meet the once-next-gen systems... I know Defience wraped up Raziel for good, but we can always upgrade that sword through "mini-worlds" like battles inside the sword playing raziel to get the sword upgraded and the "real world" we would play Kain as usual.

A Gex game could be good, but it have to be as fun as first and have gameplay and graphics quality on par with Ratchet to get my interest raised.

SpoonyRedMage5854d ago

That's kind of how I imagined it. I thought inside the Reaver would be a form of the Spectral Realm and there's certainly enough souls in it already. Could be a good adventure. It'd also lead to some fun stuff where you kill a boss as Kain and then have to fight it as Raziel using a different tactic.

I doubt it'll be LoK though.:(

MajestieBeast5854d ago

wow i thought crystal dynamics was no more loved the gex games from these guys. I wish them goodluck with everything.

The 'Stop Killing Games' initiative is close to its final deadline

Ross Scott—also known as Accursed Farms on YouTube—has been fighting tooth and nail for almost a full year to help spearhead game preservation. Starting after it was announced that Ubisoft's The Crew would be shutting down, permanently ending support for the game, Scott launched the "Stop Killing Games" initiative.

That makes a twofold deadline for the Stop Killing Games initiative. Or, at least, one headed up by Scott: The UK petition, which ends July 14, and the EU Citizens' Initiative, which ends July 3.

If you live in the EU then Please sign this or our game ownership rights and game preservation is
at stake. I know there isnt much time left but please consider signing the petition

I never knew Ross Scott was doing this

People whine and in the end don't do a thing. Then whine more when they get screwed some more smh. If this makes it then it'll be monumental for consumers. That Pirate software guy was no help either smh.

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
