Game: Ear Force Headsets: X4 Review

Game writes: "A long time ago, I reviewed the Ear Force X1's. To this day I still use them, or did use them until the Ear Force X4 Wireless Gaming Headset with Dolby Surround Sound landed on my desk. Don't get me wrong, the X1 headset has good sound quality, you can sit a fair distance from your screen and you have dual controls for the game and speech volume. What more could you ask for? If it wasn't for the cable and the hefty weight, they would've been near perfect.

However as times move forward so does the technology, and I am now a proud owner of the Ear Force X4 Wireless Gaming Headset with Dolby Surround Sound 5.1. The X4s have surpassed the X1s in every way. The sound is louder and clearer and the headset is lighter and more comfortable. Bliss..."

This guy doesn't even talk price. These are 200$, and aparently that doesn't need mentioning. For 200$ you could buy astro a40's which will make you're turtle beach feel like a mono radio.

However! there are skullcandy GI series now as an xbox live headset. Which are amazing. Skullcandy actually makes two types of xbox headsets not and the smaller "on ear" version is garbage but the bigger "on ear" style is way better. Guess what, they are only 80$'s too, they are more comparable to the turtle beach x1's which are 100$. The skullcandies don't offer dolby digital, but is that really worth 120$ more? If you're like most people and money is an object and would like something that is like a give and take. The skullcandies won't let you down, and for 80$'s they are cheap for this market.

PS the skullcandies come with a lifetime manufacture warranty. So if they break for some random reason they will replace it, and if you do something stupid like drop in the toilet they will reimburse 50%.

You can't beat em.
