EA: We're Not Doing Another Godfather

In an interview at E3 on Wednesday, Frank Gibeau, president of the EA Games label, said that after April's release of The Godfather II, his company is finished making video games based on the revered film series. "We're not going to do another one," he said flatly. He then noted that the company has no Godfather titles on its current production schedule, which extends out three years.

Thank God.The franchise has too much punishment already

Good news, cause the other Godfathers sucked

LightofDarkness5435d ago

Good. Godfather III was horrible.

PrimordialSoupBase5435d ago

Considering the resemblance between game and movie began and ended at the name, the quality of III has no bearing on anything EA would have developed.

But yeah, III is a turd.

Jerkapotamus5435d ago

Eh, the first game resembled the first movie a bit. They obviously inserted a new character, but a lot of the major events played out in the same fashion.

After Godfather II the game, I won't lose any sleep over this.

Considering that Godfather 3 released 16 years after the second (1990 & 1973), EA has a little bit of time to make a decision. Video game years are much quicker than movie years so a next gen sequel shouldn't be out of the question, right? lol :-p

TheBand1t5435d ago

I could understand hating the games, but the movie?

Come on now.

Translation: Godfather II didn't sell.

Gamer's Retort: Your Godfather games suck

Solution: Mafia/Mafia II

Mindboggle5435d ago

Godfather II was pretty decent I thought. Better than I was expecting.

The only letdown was the framedrops...

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space
