I love street art. But Red Faction is about destroying things!!! I doubt her art will survive very long when people realise that!

I love street art, and ideally the artist put a coating of a special waterbased clear over it, That way, when needed, it can be removed later with cleaners. rather than be walked off, and then tracked through the carpet of the store etc.

Working on the pavement requires a different way of looking at things rather than using a normal art board, as your view is different and some of these art pieces are extraordinary to look at, many almost looking real.

It's great that some publishers get behind their products and portfolios in this way, or other not so normal ways. As this is what makes an impression on ppl that does last.

The game rocks btw, we just finished our review ( http://oxcgn.com/2009/06/06... on it if anyone wants to check it out, has 3 vids and screens and personally, I found the game a blast when playing it at THQ recently.

Just love how THQ get behind their developers they represent. Street Fighter: IV is still being pushed strongly, and OXCGN has a Red Faction: Guerrilla Playdate on June 22nd - Fri @ 8pm - late AEST) that anyone can drop in on.

We'll have HEAPS of lobbies open and THQ will even be there . . Which shows they support their games on many levels, not just push them out the door like some publishers.

The art here shows that even games are making their way more into the public light, which is great.

i know i am going to get slated for this, but i traded InFamous for it and you know what, for some reason i am enjoying it a lot more.

not saying infamous is a bad game or anything, just saying the game really is a great game. i think its going to go in my collection of games that stay with me ( in my book there are two types of game, the games i keep for good and the games i trade in.

its a great game and a 9+ in my book.

10/10 to them for doing something different for a change, rather than having other stores make a bigger impact.

Probably the manager was more a gamer than a store-rep and simply worried about the end-of-month bottom line figures.

Showing enthusiasm for games by doing these things gets it across to many non-gamers, most of which are adults, that games ARE about adults, and that adults do enjoy playing, building, and creating art to go along with the games out these days.

Video/console games are no longer the domain of pre-teens or pimply faced per-pubescent kids hidden away in bedrooms with the lights off.

They are the games adults play . . . but now out in the lounge room where everyone can see and enjoy them.

The street art helps show them off more.

Plays even better, and like Dark Witness, I also only buy games I am going to keep. This is one of them, and I'm very picky about which ones I keep.

While I loved playing Resi 5 on the day at THQ, it was this one that had me more engaged . . .and once other media reps started playing it, the focus turned to RF:G rather than Resi 5 - funny that. But we were there to do a job, look at Resi 5, so that's what the 'others' did, I stayed on RF:G hehehe.

Anyone that plays this and says it's crap, simply can not and never will be please with any game put in front of them. No, it's not Gears Of Bloody War, or Halo-fantastic-neasium, It's just a solid shooter with LOTS of destruction, and an adaptable AI which ramps up according to YOUR skills.

have to say i agree again...

anyone who likes shooting and things blowing up, i just don't know how they could say the game is not good.

and the graphics as well, a lot of people complained about the demo looking like a ps2 game. i mean i thought the demo looked ok, but playing the full game now and seeing the rest of the map, i think it looks very good.

i mean i think it looks just as good as most of the best of this gens offerings. infact i think it looks better.. na, better not before i loose all my bubbles, lol.

anyway, i am glad i am not the only one loving it. anyone else feel like a demolition expert after playing it for a bit ? i know i do know.

Great piece of street art.
Got this game day 1 and it is a blast to play. A game every shooter fan should not miss, and the destruction is amazing.
