Edge Interview: Kazunori Yamauchi

Better late than never? It was certainly true of Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. But with Polyphony Digital split between development of Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo PSP, both of them overdue, will history be repeated? Shortly after endorsing the newly announced PSP Go, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi spoke to Tim Clark, editor of Official PlayStation Magazine UK.

he loooks worried he cant make a better game than turn 10

edit:hahah gta 5 is vapor ware atm no gameplay shown not even playable like forza 3 is here at e3 so it failed.

don't make me laugh.... :)

Has three times the cars than Forza 3
Has twice the amount of tracks than Forza 3
Has World Rally, Nascar and Formula 1. Wtf does Forza has. Forza doesnt stand a chance.

GT5 is the only racing sim to have NAILED the perfect driving experience. Forza turn 10 has realized its impossible to mimic perfect driving skills like GT5 so they are going the way of the arcade racer.

Forza 3 plays like an arcade racer unless thats what you think a real racing sim plays like.

GT5 rapes Forza on every front. And all the pros know it too.

Montreafart.....sad sad sad.

I am in a better position then all of you, I will be enjoying Forza 3 this fall and will be buying GT5 the day it comes out. Not being an anonymous brand whore is so liberating. Reminding you of your 1 way street mundane existence must sting?

Seems GT5 might be as far off as I orginally thought:

"How about GT5? Is development running smoothly?
It’s going well. We could put it out at any time, or we could carry on working on it. There’s always something to polish."

Chubear3421d ago

lol, what's new. It's PP's Grand Turismo, they're notorious for bringing these games out late but once it drops the heavens open and the angels sing :P lol

"Didn’t Polyphony have a hand in the software of the Nissan GTR itself?

The multifunction meter. It’s a monitor that shows the status of the car and driving conditions. Out of the all the monitors equipped in cars these days, I think it’s one of the best."

This goes to show how highly Polyphony is thought of in the car industry.

Sarcasm3421d ago

That's the difference between PD and Turn 10.

Turn 10 comes out and attempts to burn the phrase "Forza 3 is the definitive racer THIS GENERATION. BEEF CAKE!!! BEEF CAKE!!! BUY IT NOW! FORZA 3! FORZA 3!" over and over again.

While Kazunori-San just says "Oh, we'll release it when we release it. There's always something to polish"

They helped design software of the actual GTR? Competition doesn't stand a chance. Can't wait for the game.

Don't forget, PD also designed part of Nissan 350z.

October 1st can't come soon enough. :)

ultimolu3421d ago

Take your time with GT5 but don't take too long. ._.

FamilyGuy3421d ago

They've already taken their time AND taken long. Just gimme the game already since it's done. I recently started thinking they didn't release it because Prologue was selling so well but now i think their perfectionist nature is causing the problem LOL

All that matters is once it releases all gamers and racing enthusiast win.

ultimolu3421d ago

True, you have a point.

Sarcasm3421d ago

They are going to make a GT5 PS3 bundle for $399 and probably release it in conjunction with a $299 PS3 price drop.

Don't take this as rumor or whatever, it's just my guess lol
