OXCGN: Focus On Assassin's Creed 2

"Assassin's Creed 2 will be one of the games of 2009. I know that's a big call considering all the competition this holiday season, but it could hardly not be when it is taking all that was great about the original Assassin's Creed, a game that sold over 8 million copies, and then fixing all that was wrong with it.

What was great? The seamless free-running, the alive world, and the incredible attention to game environmental detail.

What was wrong? The repetitive missions, the rather pointless 'kingdom' area, and the limited 'future' sections."

The story is too old to be commented.

I am so pumped for this game. My top 2 desired games this holiday season: AC2 and Uncharted 2.

Both look to be huge!

Loved the first one, yes, it was repeatative, all games are by definition, but if you followed the story, it had you captivated. The same will be said of this by those that hated the first one.

So be it, but this one looks like it will play a great deal better and have more things to do due to the landscape being in and around italy etc.

Bring it on

This game looks so amazing. So is the PS3 lead platform, seeing as that is what it was demoed on?

XboxOZ3603422d ago

Probably, but hey, those sorts of things don't bother me one bit. Whatever platform it comes out on first really means little to a real gamer. Only fanboys get all bent out of shape if that concerns them.

The game is what is of prime importance, well it should be to a "gamer".

And this game looks like GOTY material, I know I'll be hunting down the various Collectors and Limited Editions of it, that's for sure. I have a AC1 360 sitting proudly on my entertainment area, along with a normal one naturally, but the number of ppl that come and check the AC1 one out, just love it.

The writer was spot on with his predictions on where and when the game would be set even early as last oct/nov when he wrote a piece on it then.

Spot on again with the actual towns and locations where it was to be set, even right down to the very buildings they have used to help build the early cities.

SO this is a well written and researched piece, and well worth the time it takes to read it.

The use of the flying machine is great, especially how you have to use hot air updraights to keep yourself aloft. And to get to your destination/s. The new double hidden dagger kill is excellent , and the sleeve Gun is another of Leonardo's proposed inventions back then.

looks mint, although I just hope we dont have to 'map the area' as often

This game looks like it's going to be better than the first, but I still think the first was awesome.

I personally hope the 360 version is lead...:) Most multi's play better on 360 (except some more recent examples maybe).
