GameSpy E3 2009: Assassin's Creed II Preview

GameSpy writes: "Flawed though it was, I was a huge fan of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, a game that allowed players to climb tall buildings with fluid grace and introduced the world to the joys of shanking an unsuspecting target with a hidden wrist blade. Despite the fact that the combat didn't have much variety and the mission structure could be painfully repetitive, the game's remarkably life-like setting and stunning visuals helped to make it one of 2007's biggest hits."

+Combat is much more varied; no more repetitive side missions (or so they say).
