20° | Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2

While still lingering about the Sony area of E3, got a chance to spend some time on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Not much time mind you, but enough to get a feel for what's in store.

The short answer here is that this game is more of the same. Fans of the franchise will be pleased to know that the lightning fast gameplay, brutal combos, and insane ninja action are all still intact. And the PlayStation 3 displays the game wonderfully, with every slice and cut being as smooth as glass and pleasing to watch.

The story is too old to be commented.

I'm very excited for anything Ninja Gaiden. However, I saw the last E3 trailer for this game and was sorely disappointed that Ryu was wielding a 1800's style gun in the cut scene. I hope for the love of NG, that they are not adding a gun to Ryu's arsenal. The game has already strayed enough away from the core NG namely the utterly bloody violence.

For the fans, check it out yourself around 1min 50secs:

Let me know what you think.... For the love of God, Hayashi don't F'up a port with minor additions.

... they made this NG2 Sigma less bloody and gory than the 360 Ninja Gaiden 2. When I see the action in the gameplay videos for the PS3 version, it just seems like less 'impact' when your ninja is slaching through all the opposition. It's less 'cool', less 'awesome'.

Ninja Gaiden should never ever ever be censored.

It still looks absolutely awesome though. Some small stuff I'm annoyed about (like the crappy Ayane-model: I LOVE Ayane, but in this game she doesn't look as cool and pretty as she does in the DOA series), but I really hope they will at least offer us the option to pick the gory/bloody version instead of this new phantom-blood dust kinda crap....

being a ninja gaiden fans since XBOX era, i dont care about gore and blood.we dont have gore at that time. the gore may attract some new bloodthirsty player but means sh!t to me. i think NGS2 will be awesome and it will be my first double-dip in this generation.

however i dont know about NG3...... without itagaki could they pull it off? For NGS2 its ok. its just a enhanced version of NG2. but a sequel will need much more talent.

NG was never just about the blood, it was about the gameplay. I don't think they're putting a gun in his arsenal anyway to be honest. The game is shaping up nicely imo and I can't wait to play the demo.
