The Halo franchise is taking steps in new directions. Earlier this year, Ensemble gave you a real-time strategy game called Halo Wars. This fall, the franchise will return to Bungie's hands for a first-person shooter that breaks the Halo mold. It doesn't star Master Chief. It doesn't feature a traditional mission layout. In fact, once you crash down on the streets of New Mombassa, you'll embark on a complete campaign that tells the stories of a group of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. The order in which you tackle those stories is up to you. How you explore New Mombassa is up to you. This city -- the largest single area Bungie has ever created -- is free for you to explore as you unlock the mysteries of the events leading up to Halo 3.
