Microsoft Adds Xbox 360 Warranty "Enhancements"

Microsoft has made some new changes to the Xbox 360's warranty. The last change was made back in late December when the console warranty was boosted from 90 days to a full year. The latest changes, however, should go a long way to fill in any gaps that may have been missing/lacking in the Xbox 360's warranty service.

The first new change is free shipping for consoles in and out of warranty that are sent in for repair. Microsoft will send a postage paid box to return your console to the repair center.

Secondly, when Microsoft sends you back a repaired console it will come with a fresh one-year repair warranty.

like the Dell Warranty type service. Not a bad model, if you don't have to pay for much.

i talked to a tech person and she said they charge a flat repair fee which im think is too much. this is a step in the right direction, i just hope microsoft goes along with the elite trade in so i can a a new year warranty.

you will probably receive some sort of reimbursement in the mail. So far everytime they have changed the warranty they also reimbursed everyone who wouldn't have had to pay... so you might just get a check in the mail :D

You can't win them all and MS can't satisfy everyone. You know you could have got the extended warranty for the price of a game and you wouldn’t be in this predicament. Smart shopping

finally some relief for people that have to get their console repaired...this is actually good since now you don't get screwed for shipping if you are within your warranty period. mine has not needed to be repaired (December 18,2005 console) and i have a bestbuy replacement warranty, but at least this is a step in the right direction for those that have had a headache from paying shipping and worrying about replacement 360's breaking and having to pay more shipping to get those repaired...
