Dealing with these ungainly specs at the theatre so that my daughter can watch Bolt jump off the screen is bad enough; I need not suffer them in the comfort of my own home.
And even if you don't have prescription eyewear to deal with, are most people likely to don geeky headgear on a regular basis? It makes me think of failed technologies like virtual reality and TV-glasses (sorry, personal media viewers).
The fact that critics are reporting eye strain after prolonged use doesn't help matters much..."
