Red Faction: Guerrilla Review @ Gameplayer

Gameplayer has gone live with the first online review of Volition's latest entry in the Red Faction series, offering an in-depth analysis of how the game plays.

"We can't talk highly enough about the quality of the world destruction in Red Faction: Guerrilla and the fact that Volition has got it all working in a sandbox, unscripted environment with explosions going off everywhere with rarely a frame-rate hitch at all is worth a standing ovation from any discerning gamer."

Glad to see Volition get some recognition. I was a big fan of the original Red Faction, so i am amped to see that it goes good on next-gen consoles. Day one buy for me.

I am glad to see they are giving it good reviews but I suspect it will end up being a mixed bag. The demo was a love it or hate it thing and I can see many folks dogging this one. I liked it but then again, I was a big fan of the original RF.

i'm sorry but judging by the demo i can't believe this crap is getting so many high scores ..my opinion

Why dis5863d ago

Judging by the demos this game is a must have.

I had to control myself with multi player because I wasted too much time playing it and the single player demo was also very promising.

SlappingOysters5863d ago

I wouldn't judge too much off demos, I reckon they're done up months before release.

Sucks2BU5863d ago

On how far prior to the release the demo comes out I find.

TheRealSpy025863d ago

This is the sandbox game everyone should be talking about. not sure why this seems to be the least covered of the 3 coming out around this time. it's easily the most technically impressive.

DARK WITNESS5863d ago

I really enjoyed the demo, after playing it i had set aside my cash for this game from day one.

its the first game i think that has really unscripted destructible environments. its very satisfying. up till now all the other games that have promised such have failed in my eyes.

SuperM5863d ago

Red faction looks a little to orange for my taste.

Is this some sort of maretting ploy, or do they not start porting this stuff until after the console games have been made nowadays?

Or is it to combat piracy maybe?

talltony5863d ago

Good reveiw but i'm still skeptical about this game. I need more reveiws like this before i make my desicsion.

Johandevries5863d ago

A weak PC-port is being made, trust my words. It's the same sheet as Saints Row 2, the biggest deception of 2009 yet.

xionpunk5863d ago

Another 9? Sweet. I always planned on buying Red Faction Guerrilla, but never thought it would be scoring this high. This is pretty kick ass since I'm a huge Red Faction 1 fan.

FUEL and Red Faction are going to be be two really great games.

June is a great month for Xbox and PS3 owners!

Ghostbusters for PS3 as well. That looks sick. And The Sims 3, which I don't care about but 120 million other people certainly seem to.

The only game for me BF1943. Can't wait.
