Electric Playground Review: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

In the murky past prior to Grand Theft Auto III, GTA was a top down 2D game. On the DS, it's a top-down 3D game, so it's a little mix of the old and new. And it's very close to its console cousins; it's a flawed gem, but there's so much cool stuff to do that you can easily overlook that. The camera and controls could really use more refinement, and the fact that you have to pull out the stylus often to manage menus and minigames breaks the flow from time to time. However, once you've got all the gunplay, car chases and drug running going on the palm of your hand, you'll get used to all that.
