Everybody knows that when the videogame business is well managed, is a business that creates millions. It seems that Microsoft soon to introduce a portable console, but the rumors have indicated long ago, but is it this?
The E3 is upon us and the American giant and very promising. The rumors are many and LusoGamer presents a series of compromising pictures. A portable console 100% compatible with the Xbox Live Arcade.

The funny thing is that this device is going to be a lot more powerful than the Wii, and yet it's a lot smaller.

It has a lot of pros and it looks capable of reproducing Xbox Originals. However, it only has a single analogue stick as a freaking add-on, it seems that Microsoft didn't take the lessons and didn't hear gamers cry for a 2nd analogue stick with the PSP. It also sounds like it's gonna be very expensive, I mean 32GB flash memory? 128 MB of RAM? That thing can even outdo the iPhone, a lot of potential right there.

But as I said above, let's hope this thing isn't a freaking RROD grenade.

I saw a pic with a list of specs. One of the specs said Onlive compatible. That made me extremely happy, imagine crysis on a handheld :)

Well, the PSP was $250 when it first came out and it surely wasn't packing a dual core processor let alone 128mb of video memory. This would be an auto-buy for me, thank you.

Well there are only so many ways these things can look. You've got a screen, some buttons and...well that's it. They could have made it flip style like the Advance SP or DS, but then they'd be accused of copying those handhelds.

As stated above, there's only so many design choices available for a portable console. If it's going to be widescreen like PSP, then the controls should be on either side of the screen. If you placed the controls below the screen, it would add unnecessary width to the console and it wouldn't even fit into a pocket.

The original Xbox did have a nasty habit of bursting into flames. They fixed it pretty quick, though.

I didn't bring Sony into this at all. My comment was directed at the Bricking of Zunes on 01/01/09 due to a software malfunction. Why would a put down $199 on a something with a history of problems.And Software problems too...From a software company.

Actually that's false. The first Xbox didn't sell that much so that's why you didn't hear much about Xboxes burning down houses until when the 360 came out, not to mention several DVD drives crapping out. If anything the first Xbox was more unreliable, you just didn't care to know about it. As for the PS2, it sold so much that you were bound to hear something about its failures. Only a batch came out with a higher than normal failure rate, but that was fixed. Even then, the failure rate was smaller than the one found on Xbox 360. Still today Microsoft hasn't fixed Xbox 360's failures.

As I said above, Let's hope the ZuneX is not a "LIVE" grenade.

The PS2 as far as I know, a specific model had issues reading double layer DVDs...

I think if they are releasing something like this, it will be akin to the iPod touch, with the added functionality of taking your Xbox LIVE games with you, or you can buy them separately thru Amazon or something. If so, thats a good idea. I'd sell my dusty PSP for that...

Include Wi-Fi browsing/syncing, chatting thru Xbox LIVE, access to your gamercard, avatar support, a nice sized HDD...if you could also sync it with your 360 music library (with either the internal or an external HDD), THAT would be a good idea. That way, you dont even need a computer to handle music/video content. Just a thought.

EDIT: and support for video DL's from LIVE. Why not, MS steals plenty of good ideas from Apple all the time...

Honestly If this is real and I hope it's not I think it's a horrible Idea. We don't really need 3 portables out there 4 if you count the loliphone. On top of the fact that consumer confidence in this product should it see the light of day will not be very high considering the RROD.

All the specs look real becouse I see blutooth 2.1 listed there and it's due out in december. The only drawback and possibly wrong spec listed is the screen size to pixel ratio 640x 363 is not real. There are 640x480 displays from 2007 but they would such for games as Sony has learned from. Because I know for a fact MS is going to use the 4.3in display from Samsung that only comes in 480x800 ratios for LCD, and AMOLED variants with opptinal touch cappabilities if requested. Also there was lited HD video support that at the least need a 720p screen which is a common video and XNA game res used today. Though I still think this is not real, the Zune HD is real but not this Zune X thing.

Also: why would Microsoft support OnLive, a RIVAL game service planning to launch in a year or so that would compete with traditional consoles like the Xbox 360?

Very good points. The supposed support for OnLive pretty much blasts a hole in the idea of this being true. I can't envision a scenario in which it would make sense for MS to support a rival service.

I still have a feeling that MS is working on something.
