Gobliiins 4 Pierre Guilhodes Interview Released

Kalypso Media released an interview with the creator of Gobliiins 4, Pierre Guilhodes, where he shares some of his thoughts on the game and the future of the franchise. Gobliiins 4 is the latest installment in a series which began back in 1991 with Gobliiins and continued with Gobliiins 2 in 1992 and Gobliiins 3 in 1993, is now available for €19.95. Gobliiins 4 brings back the beloved three original main characters and blends elements of adventure and puzzle gaming: the player must find a solution to each level in order to progress to the next. The race through this colorful adventure-land spans more than 30 hours, including a secret bonus level.

AVault: Gobliiins 4 Review

Nostalgia is a wonderful thing, but you're supposed to look at what's come before and learn from it. By filling Gobliiins 4 with antiquated visual and gameplay characteristics, Societe Pollene seems to have forgotten that old saying about the dangers of ignoring the past. The game is a frustrating throwback to days long gone. And sometime soon, it'll be found where all old and forgotten games end up - in the bargain bin.

Adventure Classic Gaming: Gobliiins 4 Review

Still, for all the frustration of the puzzles and the simplicity of the story, Gobliiins 4 offers some genuine charm and enjoyment. It is a shame that the developer has chosen to increase the longevity of the game by simply populating the later levels with puzzles that are hard as nails, often to the point of obscurity. Fans of the series may want to check this game out. Sadly, for other adventure game fans, a recommendation cannot be offered with a clear conscience.
