America would send a nuke to deal with hackers

FZ: "The US military has decided that it is completely viable to stop a cyber attack on the US by dropping a nuke on the hacker.

According to the Stars and Stripes magazine, the US has said that a cyber attack would not necessarily be limited to cyberspace. The head of U.S. Strategic Command Air Force Gen. Kevin P. Chilton said that the Law of Armed Conflict will apply to this domain.

He said that how the country would respond to a cyber attack would be decided by the president and Defense secretary and "no response was off the table". Mostly Chilton was talking about dropping a bomb on the hacker but whether or not that would be conventional or nuclear play load was also up for grabs.

"You don't take any response options off the table from an attack on the United States of America. Why would we constrain ourselves on how we would respond? " he said.

The US military has adopted a policy of flinging as much firepower at an enemy in the hope it would go away since the Revolutionary war. Subtlety has not been a feature of the US military mind. If a botnet can be destroyed with bombs it is going to be, at least in the US mind."

I don't doubt they would. They'd probably drop a nuke a small ants nest because it promoted communism (all workers blindly follow orders/roles)

Kakkoii5887d ago

Well they don't really follow orders blindly. Ant's merely work together for the better of the whole colony. Which is the basis of communism. Communism itself isn't bad, merely the people who have tried it have been bad, abusing their power.

SRU96005887d ago

Well, this little bit of news should keep cyber attacks to a minimum. lol

Panthers5887d ago

Communism is bad. It cant work with individuality at all. You have to become a drone in order for it to work.

HighDefinition5887d ago

EVERY SYSTEM has it`s up`s and downs. Capitalism`s hands aren`t clean by any strech of the imagination.

TheBand1t5887d ago

Only "Open fire" and "Time to reload." :D

No, but seriously. Cluster munitions would be much cheaper.

lokiroo4205887d ago

es funny because America kill anyone for nuthing!

"Communism itself isn't bad, merely the people who have tried it have been bad, abusing their power. "

You should kill yourself for making that comment. Communism IS bad, because it takes away what drives people to better themselves an increase the wealth of the country.

Would you go to school for 14 years to become a specialized doctor, if you knew you'd make the SAME money as a janitor with 3 days of on-the-job training?

The answer is NO.

Before anyone goes and blindly makes accusations, I suggest you actually READ what Marx had to say on the subject. I bet all of you people who are used to saying communism is bad because of how poorly it worked in Russia and to some extent China will actually see that the world has yet to see a truly functional communist system.

Also, don't you think this kind of response is completely acceptable considering, you know, our entire viable working economic system is now completely electronic. I would posit that a bad cyber attack could do a hell of a lot more damage than a low yield tactical nuke. I mean come on, consider the implications of taking away every computer in the world (it's a hypothetical I know but it gets the point across)!

Statix5886d ago (Edited 5886d ago )

You'd have to be completely naive to think that a system of 100% pure capitalism isn't going to lead to everyone getting effed up the ass (by the formation self-serving, domineering corporations), just like a system of 100% pure communism is likely going to eff everyone up the ass, through eventual apathy.

Everything exists on a spectrum, even as it relates to China. The truth is neither America or any other civilized nation functions or could function on an entirely capitalistic-based system anymore. That's just the reality of it.

What the hell...

Way to invite all the mongoloids from around the world to come and bash the US even more. Providing ammo against the US's image is the last thing they need to be doing at the moment.

Xbrainer5887d ago

I don't believe this actually means that they would send a nuke to stop a hacker but it is more saying they would do whatever necessary to stop an attack on American soil. I mean seriously if they knew where the attack came from there is no need to send a nuke when you can send in troops just as easily.

jamesrocks31475887d ago

the defination of teamkill tho

lokiroo4205887d ago

Hell we dont even have to get off the boat, snipe the sh!t out of them like a bunch of pirates!

Statix5886d ago

You know, I'm really not against a strong and forceful military response by this country to any major threats posed against it. But I'm going to draw the line when it comes to discussing the use of a weapon that could POTENTIALLY TRIGGER THE END OF THE WORLD ITSELF, to deal with a problem that an Anti-Virus definitions update could fix.

Uzesgelen_Goo5886d ago

what do you mean by a word "mongoloids"?! if you spelling this word because of about mongolian (aka Hunu also Attila was Hunu too) invasion happened in the 13th century (aka Chinghes Khan) it was not that barbaric (^_^)

So if I hack the USA White House/Militairy, they will nuke The Netherlands. Sounds like a very good respons there!

Shadow Man5887d ago

or better yet what if an American hacks the white house are they gonna nuke themselves?

Mr Face Creamer5887d ago

I officially declare that Holland has massive weapons of destruction.

Time for another war!

Shadow Man5887d ago (Edited 5887d ago )

Might as well drop a nuke in china or they could just hire this Chinese hackers so they can help prevent cyber attacks from happening.
