Lost and Damned headed to PS3 in August?

Xbox did have massive pop in problems though, trees, cars and even whole buildings just appear 2 seconds up the road. Yeah you guys are awesome, keep telling yourself every game is better on Xbox, eventually you'll believe it.

to everyone, the DLC and the content inside of it was all microsoft's idea, it's theirs they payed for the whole thing.

now, the people who bought the ps3 version really shouldn't feel like they were betrayed by Rockstar when it wasn't even originally in their heads in the first place. (MS came to them for the expansion)

Im glad L&D is worth the money (your words) but does that means I need to spend 60 + 20 $ to get some fun with this "AAA" title? I, not sure how Rockstar managed to strip down all the fun from GTA4, perhaps they mixed up mature with boring, but anyway going back to topic: if L&D sold a million copies on the platform it was suppose to be released, I doubt seriously it will be a commercial success on the PS3 a year later.

Rockstar needs to push something new, perhaps in the line of Vice City or San Andreas. Using an updated GTA4 tech but in a different universe/with different characters, overhauling the combat and not taking itself too seriously. Well, I dont know, I just got more fun with Vice City Stories on my psp. Now Im playing LC Stories and GTA4 is just gathering dust.

i don't think it was so much about the sales of dlc though. more of an extra draw to say to ppl who hadnt made the jump to 'next gen' go well i can play GTA4 on the 360 for much less + theres this exclusive dlc for it.

I'm not sure how well it would sell on the ps3 if it did come out but if Rockstar could then i think they would (cus there were still a high number of ps3 copies sold!) it depends on the costs though + obviously about the details of the exclusive deal.

I'm a GTA fan. GTA was one of the titles I wanted. GTA4 was announced as a multiplatform title. I, as a GTA fan, was happy to be able to pick up the title on my system of choice, since I could play GTA AND MGS AND other titles I wanted.

Don't know what you mean by TL;DR, but Valve were not exactly "null" on that issue and never said "no comment". They managed to laugh in Mike Jackson's face when he asked them about L4D on the PS3.

And post the entire story about that next time. The "mockery" that the "Valve rep" made about all of that. Why in quotes? Because Jackson later asked me how I knew that it wasn't Gabe or Doug they talked to, giving me the impression that they were trying to protect either of them from getting a huge run of negative press from the mock by hiding them as being autonomous. That was the story there, and it's not surprising at all that you're not telling that side of it.

This deal with Rockstar is far and away different than the one you're referring to. Rockstar never mocked the possibility nor tried to deny it. They just said "no comment", which apparently you haven't paid enough attention to any of the gaming news lately: "no comment" has a LOT of potential meanings. Did you hear Rockstar make a DENIAL about L&D being for the PS3 in the future? Didn't think so.

And remember what else we heard about the 50 million dollars, which was 25 mil for each episode.

But again, I'm not sure why these people continue to argue this point about the DLC. If it happens, then it happens. I don't get why 360 fanboys get so defensive about GTA4. Maybe because they really don't have much else to call their own this year and the DLC is one of the very few things they can actually say is theirs right now. Funny thing is, this is what you get if you depend too much on exclusive DLC and making things multiplatform. And we KNOW by now what the effects of leaving that kind of stuff open for speculation means anymore, especially in the gaming industry: That there is something to the rumor that they can't discuss for some reason (usually an NDA, as I pointed out in the LAST article about this story). Maybe if you were less inclined to assassinate MY cred and instead actually reread some of these stories (not just mine, but across the internets) that you claim you don't have time to read, then you might just see that.

What you have to remember about DLC is this.

It's not part of the game the devs made, it's just an addon and therefore your not really missing anything, but the devs want you to believe they didn't have the time to fit it in, bull!

I have GTA4, it's ok. Not the best game, but kills some hours.

ABit like assasins creed, scale amazes you, and then just bores you abit.

Sandbox games do get boring quickly.

I much prefer a proper story and an ending with no interuptions inbetween.

But I can tell you guys this - I honestly don't care about that Lost and Damned DLC coming on the PS3. I would'nt even buy it even if it was released for the PS3 eventually. I'm just not feelin that biker gang theme, for me thats not what the main character in GTA is about, it's all about gangsters or mobsters. It would have been more interesting to me if the DLC had included some extras like more varied missions, turf/gang wars, missing features from previous games, more stores and buildings to enter, buying property, businesses, robbing stores etc. Maybe a continuation of Niko's character would have interesed me too. Biker gangs? no thanks, dont care about Lost and Damned and thats the honest truth. I wanna see a next GTA title in form of an updated Vice City in HD that posiibly includes the state of Florida.

I got tired to wait the DLCs for Fo3 to coem to the PS3 and so I got this game and the 3 DLCs to play on my PC.
I loved the Fallout3 DLCs and I err envy a little Xbox360 ppl for that.

The Lost and Dammed for the Xbox360 is probably a very cool "expansion" and I would liek to see it some time on the PS3 or maybe for the PC(I think there is no L&D for PCc,right ?)

Both GTa4 and Fallout3 are good exemple of games that shows what a real DLC should looks like and not a bunch of mini packs qith skins and stupid things liek that for games such Dead Space and SF4.

and it did what it needed to do... sell more copies of a franchise on an ms console than the console it's always been on. Sure other gta games made it to xbox in the past, but always a while later and the ps2 versions always sold more.

So i never think the 50 mil was about dlc sales, but more getting gamers to get the game for 360 or if they didn't even own a 'next gen' system, to make people who wanted to play the next gta go 'well i could get gta and either a 360 or ps3. Now i'd usually go with playstation but the 360 is cheaper and it has dlc...

But you don't get the full experience of GTA4 without the 360 DLC.
Maybe the missions are uploaded to youtube now. You can see them without playing them.

It really doesn't add much to the story but its still cool to see.

Early next year is probably more probable.

The next episode will probably come to xbox live around fall/winter. Only after both episodes have been released on xbox will it come to PS3.

People tend to forget the larger picture here. GTA V is a long way off. PS3 has 10 years life cycle according to Sony. Plenty of new PS3 owners will be picking up GTA IV in the next year making for a large user base when the 2 episodes come to PS3. Hopefully on a Game of The Year edition on one Blu-Ray...

I have a 360 and a PS3, but I have GTA 4 on PS3, and have no interest in buying it for the 360. I still play GTA 4 a crap load and this would make me play the game that much more.

But if it never comes to the PS3, that's ok too IMO. Some kind of DLC would be cool though.

It's fine to think the system you own is better. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but come on man, I have seen DOZENS of comments by you taking stabs at the 360. For a company in its second gaming Gen, Microsoft has done excellent. Microsoft is taking steps in innovation. They added achievements, which Sony Adapted trophies, XBOX live is superior service that the PSN hopefully will aspire to. Microsoft is adding interaction with it's community in games like 1 vs. 100. If this motion capture camera is legit, then they are taking steps to change ways we interact with our entertainment. The hardware in the PS3 may be superior, but for the current generation, right NOW, it's just too expensive and not "the norm". Blue-ray will be the norm in a few years, but it hasn't gotten there yet. The PS3 definitely has more superior hardware and is an excellent system. The point I am making is you never compliment the 360 EVER. It's always bias comments about how great the PS3 is and how crappy the 360 is. I have read some GOOD comments by you, but your credibility goes down when you attack the 360. You know what I am saying?

GTA4 is old news. Go to your local gamestop and just look at all the used copies that are there lol. Nobody plays this game anymore and if they do its because they cant afford to get any of the latest games. Sad part is I still have my copy and I dont know why, I never play it. It is the worst GTA, feels more like a next gen getaway or some other crap. GTA is all about killing, stealing cars, upgrading cars (where the hell was that one) and drugs, violence, sex, and everything else that would get politicians panties in a bunch. This oh so in depth story line they introduced was crap! I dont care about a dumb russian who comes to liberty city, I just wanna mess some stuff up, and cause terror like everyone else who played GTA3 and on has done. The DLC is crap on the 360 too, and that was 50 mil down the tubes ftl!
Enough with the negative lets look at the positive. The next GTA is supposed to be a ps3 exclusive, but will it even matter? I am sure there is more they can do but if they dont bring back the elements that made this game great then whats the point. I had way more fun playing saints 2 which got it right. The story in saints sucked too but damn you could do way more. I had an APV rollin on 42inch rims with spinners! now that is what im talkin about lol j/k, but the APV was ballin!
