i don't really care.. as long as Sony keeps releasing quality title after quality title, they can stay in last because I enjoy my ps3 and the fantastic games iv played to date.

market share means nothing to me, I'm a gamer. aren't you guys?

ultimolu3806d ago

The PS3 is one of the best consoles ever made. Sony did make a lot of mistakes, but they also made some good calls as well. I have way too many games to finish beat with more on the way as well as a new harddrive.

This is the happiest era of gaming for me.

I was hoping that one day Sony would start fighting back and give their rivals some intense competition.

That day has come.

Like I said, patience is virtue.

And dammit, I want an Infamous beta key. ;.;

the comeback is in motion as we speak.

Sony's underestimating themselves; they're doing fine. All three companies have been ridiculously successful this generation, broadening the market and breaking down limits one after one.

They all also feed off each other's success. Without the PS3, Microsoft wouldn't have added a bigger hard drive, an HDMI port, and more reliable hardware chips. Without the 360, Sony would never have built the originally disappointing PlayStation Network into the undeniably quality service it is today. Without the Wii, the PS3 wouldn't have its Sixaxis, and the 360 wouldn't have its avatars. And without the PS3 or 360, the Wii probably wouldn't have even added any online support for its console.

The three consoles rely on each other more than people expect, and in the end, although they're trying to beat each other, it is us, the consumers, who ultimately win, because we have the pleasure of being able to experience all of these wonderful products. It's a learning experience for all of the companies, and they're all improving because of it. We should be grateful that competition exists in this market.

Admittedly, concerning the comments about the PS3 selling the fastest, it also owes that to the 360. The 360 introduced the world to HD gaming, but people weren't sure about actually going through with it. Over time, they warmed up to it. By the time the PS3 came out, everyone was familiar with the HD gaming revolution, and so they were more than happy to wipe the shelves clean of PS3's.

Don't misread me, as I'm sure many of you will. I'm not saying the 360 is better. Microsoft just hit the market first. And in the end, that benefitted Sony's console as much as it benefitted its own. Market acclimation, children. Pretty simple concept.

What an enlightening, insightful rebuttal. *roll eyes*

It's just a theory. If you have something to say about it, how about you respond in a more mature manner that will potentially stir intelligent discussion?

Addendum: I love how my subculture these days is dominated by potheads and steroid-jacked jocks.

Well into Next generation maybe.

Dam #1.3 is crazy maybe this person came from a non English speaking country. God dam relax this is no place to be if you're getting offended because he said something about your toy you didn't like LMAO

Sony doesn't have a good enough strategy, the result is not winning over the industry and in the end not winning over the consumers. Sony's games get boring the ones that trickle in are hyped and score well for their supposed technical grandeur but they are not solid in design overall, thats why they sell the way they do.

Also PSN/PS3 has poor online support gamers of today like.
And Sony needs to work on PSN and the PS3 system software. The PS3 has too many errors that occur randomly and people can't even sign in half the time because of server errors. People hear about these things regardless of not seeing hundreds of 360 fanboys talking about it.

Not as much 3rd party support outside multi platform games and whats left are only Mass Effect, Forza and Halo calibur games on PS3 every year or two or even 3 or more.

thewhoopimen3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

I think Sony's "successful" comeback is predicated upon that elusive $100 price drop and the growing exclusive title count that we're seeing this year. I do believe Sony can still win at least #2 this console gen. The wii's initial welcome is dying out (at least in Japan) so... who knows?

aaron58293806d ago

It will do really really well...

So yeah, i agree..

gaffyh3806d ago

@1.12 - We (the N4G community) are so sorry you can't afford a PS3. :)

IdleLeeSiuLung3806d ago

If you claim that it isn't the price for the slow PS3 sales in the US, can you specify why you think otherwise?

cherrypie3806d ago

A) The Average price of Xbox 360 sold is closer to $300 than $200.
B) The Xbox 360 install base in EU is larger than PS3.
C) Japan is the smallest market of the three (NA,EU,JPN).

Your living in SDF-lala-land.

Jaces3805d ago

Better to say it'll make a late comeback only to turn around and kick some ass rather than brag and fall short. IMO.

JasonPC360PS3Wii3805d ago

Its nice to see that Sony can dream as much as its fans

Jaces3805d ago

And it's nice to see that you have nothing better to do but make yourself feel a little bit better about your sorry life by posting pointless and utter dribble.

Dont care if it makes a comeback, just keep giving me more exclusive to make the other "gamers" jealous.

TheAntiFanboy3806d ago

Us "gamers" who own all three consoles have nothing to be jealous of.

AKNAA3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

"Us "gamers" who own all three consoles have nothing to be jealous of. "

You don't need to own all three consoles to be considered a gamer. Its more of a personal preference. Besides, some people have a budget to consider.

DrRobotnik3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

For being the most expensive console in the market, I think its doing pretty well. When neo-geo came out it was $600 with games that cost around $150-200 each. Hell, 3DO was damn near $800. Now those consoles failed. But for a console to start out at $600 and sell well over 20 mil world wide. That's saying something. 20 mil+ people out there shelled out $399-599 of their hard earned, recession laced cash for this console. Sony's doin just fine. And that's with hardly any advertising on TV.

TheAntiFanboy3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

It does have a strong, proven brand name behind it. Case in point: when the Xbox 360 came out and I expressed my intent to purchase one, my parents asked, "what's a exbawks?"

Oh yeah, not to mention, the recession only came about last year. =P

taco_tom2373806d ago

does it really matter what place it comes in...if u already own one then u shouldn't care

just enjoy ur systems and stop arguing

PirateThom3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

Exactly. The sales argument is played out. If people would rather play sales than games, then good luck to them. I hope their shares do well, maybe they can use the profit to take up gaming.

BX813806d ago

It's a 4 Quarter game! I like console competition, it's only good for the consumer!!!!!

Man_of_the_year3805d ago

Well i have stocks in Sony AND in MS so i actually do care about sales. Aside from that, the more consoles in the market the greater the market share. Therefor the higher possibility that developers will develope more games for that console. Maybe the console may even steal a couple once thought exclusives from the other console...

So you guys may not be able to see the BIG picture about sales, some of us do. And can see sales and gaming go hand in hand.

Ignorance is bliss i guess if you only own the over priced 3rd place console.

pwnsause3806d ago

the SNES pulled a comeback and beat the Genesis in sales, can the PS3 do the same thing? yea, as long as Sony pulls the right strings, then it will be alright.

ultimolu3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

They can do it and I have a feeling of what may happen that could win them their comeback.

Marius: That and something more. :)

LordMarius3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

*cough price drop cough

^ mhmmm do you know something I dont?
