The second major game update for MotorStorm Pacific Rift is available to download right now!
The update introduces all new Microbadges to MotorStorm, alongside several fixes and improvements to the gameplay.
Digital Foundry : Evolution Studios' Motorstorm is one of the first, finest and most fondly remembered of launch titles for PlayStation 3. It's a release designed to answer the question posed by each new console generation: what makes a game 'next-gen'? With its robust physics engine and massive tracks, Motorstorm serves up a bold affirmative answer to this question, delivering an experience that could never have existed on prior console hardware. At the same time, the path to release was fraught with challenges that almost serve as a microcosm of the PlayStation 3 release situation itself. It was a success, however, with a trilogy of PS3 releases, plus PSP, Vita and even PS2 off-shoots.
After Driveclub and Onrush, the dev team will now contribute to and assist with the development of the upcoming NFS.
Never really got into it myself I remember getting it with ps3 and being a bit underwhelmed I preferred the RC version they did for vita 🙌🏻🤣
DSOGaming writes: "RPCS3 is the best emulator for Sony’s previous-gen console, the Playstation 3, and we’ve decided to share some videos, showing Dante’s Inferno, God of War 3, Sly 3, P5 Persona, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting, Super Hero Generations and more running on its latest version."
DSOGaming writes: "YouTube’s ‘reznoire’ and ‘Emulators for PC’ have shared some new videos from the latest version of the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, showing Heavy Rain, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift and Spiderman 3 running in it."
Poor Heavy Rain lol that game was and is a pile. Emulation sounds cool though - Res. Evil 3 and Directors Cut all the way.
So games run at 10 fps and graphical glitches not seen since pcsx2 in 2003,.. I will get there someday.

We’ve been dying to tell you about all of the tons and tons of content we’ve been working on since the game launched late last year, but we haven’t been ready to spill the beans until now. To get the ball rolling, I’m going to talk exclusively about MotorStorm’s all new Microbadges, which are included in the latest game update. It’s exciting stuff and it’s only the start: the next couple of months are going to be good times if you’re a MotorStorm fan!
Microbadges are brand new, in-game displayable ‘medals’ which let you flaunt your proudest personal accomplishments and your off-road racing prowess to every other racer online.
Sure, it’s nice being able to check out your rivals MotorStorm Pacific Rift Trophies through the XMB in-game, and being able to check out their stats in the pre-race lobby is cool, but as soon as the race starts and the action gets dialled up to ‘11’, remembering who were the contenders and who were the pretenders can be a tricky task. By turning on the new Microbadges, with a swift extra click of the L3 button, you can immediately get the measure of the man – or woman – whose rear fender you’re grinding against; are they someone to watch out for or are they likely to be eating your dust by the time you reach the finish line?
With Microbadges, we wanted to go a little beyond the sort of things MotorStorm Pacific Rift already awards Trophies for, and we decided early on that the Microbadges should be dedicated to the things you’d want other players to know about while you’re racing online. Here’s a sneak taster of some of them, to give you an idea;
Gold Festival Completed Pacific Rift Festival with all Gold medals
Immortal Win an Online Ranked race without wrecking
Flame and Fortune 20 Boost explosion wins
Time Attack Master Record an impressive Time Attack time on any Leaderboard
Supreme Victor Win any Online or Offline race by a margin of 15 seconds
The Microbadges are displayed beneath your Online ID when you race, and you can display up to three badges from the get-go. Three more badge slots (there are 6 slots in total) can be earned by working your way up the online ranks. We’ve tried to make sure that the badges are all easy to identify in the middle of a high-speed, tropical battle, but if you spot any online which you don’t recognise, you can check your Garage to find out what they are and how you can unlock them.
One of the coolest aspects is that it doesn’t matter how many badges you have, YOU choose which ones you show off and YOU decide what you want to tell the world about what kind of player you are, and what you’ve achieved in the game. The Microbadges will tailor themselves around your performance to date, too, so slots and badges will be rewarded, where possible, for any criteria you’ve already satisfied. If you’ve already put in the hours, you’ll be reaping the rewards!
There are 40 Microbadges to collect, covering a wide variety of achievements, so hopefully we’ve offered badges which reward all types of players. Some are tied to Trophies, some are based on your solo performance in the Festival, some are earned for online play, and some are exclusive to the new content we’ve got coming up – which you’ll get to learn more about, soon!
It’s a better time than ever to ‘be a somebody’ in the MotorStorm world!
Meh neat feature but still - they shouldnt have advertised the DLC when they knew they werent going to bring it out. False advertising isn't good.
Im gonna hop on Motor Storm tomorrow to see what i already got.
