David Hayter to Voice Solid Snake in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced that iconic actor David Hayter will lead an all-star cast of returning voice talent in the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Continuing his commitment to the series and character he helped to define, Hayter will provide the voice for an aging and exhausted Solid Snake in the latest chapter of Hideo Kojima's legendary tactical espionage action video game series.

Returning to voice Solid Snake in an original script by Hideo Kojima and Shuyo Murata, David Hayter will be joined by returning voice actors Quinton Flynn, Paul Eiding and Christopher Randolph who will continue their work as the voices of Raiden, Roy Campbell and Hal "Otacon" Emmerich, respectively. In addition to his well known voice work in the Metal Gear Solid series, Hayter is an accomplished Hollywood script writer, having penned the original screenplays for box office hits such as "X-Men," "X2: X-Men United," and the upcoming "Black Monday." Kris Zimmerman will also return to the Metal Gear Solid series to direct the voice acting sessions for the game.

Was there really ever any doubt? Good news none the less

I don't know if I could ever play MGS again if Snake didn't have the same voice.

I knew Hideo would let them go, the continuity of the series is what makes it great, even from the origional games. Lets face it, the greatest story telling in the Video game industy wouldn't allow anything to go wrong in the final chapter would he?

The big question is; will you be able to choose language and subtitles?

MGS has always been epic in proportion... I can still remember the sheer awe I got the first time I played Metal Gear Solid 2... I'm confident that Kojima will attain the same level of "wow" with this game...

And honestly, I don't care if this game is released for the 360 as well... EVERYBODY needs some Metal Gear Solid in their life!! ;-)

I know we will be hit with the wow factor... this is what the guy does!! Nice to see someone in it for the games, it's sad when stuff like the DMC3 debarkle happens. If the game had gone exclusive to 360, I could understand, but going multi platform? Wouldn't care. As long as I get to play it on my PS3, I'm happy :) I must admit, I honestly can't see it happening, seeing as though it's an end to a story that has been on the PS platform for whats coming up to 9 years now (discounting spin-offs of course). I can't imagine tryna sneak around using a differant control, wouldn't feel right! The only thing that worries me is the lack of rumble, MGS was the best use of this, as it actually was an aid in the game. Made you feel like you was right there, shame Sony couldn't admit they were wrong

Rumble is coming back as Sony annnounced that they made up with immersion and that they are going to implement new rumble for the PS3. And if it won't make it in time for this game then it will with MGS4: Subsistanicousias ;)
