Kotaku: Full Blast Hitchhike Preview: Just As Weird With The Name Change

Kotaku writes: "Formerly known as Let's Hitchhike!!!!!!!!!-yes, with nine exclamation points-the re-christened Full Blast Hitchhike is probably the weirdest WiiWare game I've ever played.

It also doesn't seem to have all that much to do with hitchhiking. Sure there's a thumb cursor and some vehicles you're trying to "flag down" via all manner of Wii-mote flailing you can imagine. But where's the grungy charm, the moral ambiguity? And where is the vague threat of being stabbed?"

NintendoLife Preview: Let's Hitchhike!

NintendoLife writes:

"It's literally called Let's Zenryoku Hitchihaiku!!!!!!!!! (yes nine exclamations!), which I guess you could translate as Let's Totally Hitchhike, Dude! (the "Dude" is my personal addition) and it's a recent release to the Japanese WiiWare service which I just had to try out after seeing videos of the game in action.

Without understanding spoken Japanese the best I can make out is that you're part of a group of a people who were enjoying a meal at a restaurant when suddenly dinosaurs and UFOs appeared out of nowhere. Naturally this is an alarming turn of events so you and the other diners fled the premises. The proprietor appears to have had a meltdown as a result of you leaving without paying the tab and pursues you as you traverse through four worlds to reach the Finish."

IGN: Let's Hitchhike First Look

Disgaea publisher Nippon Ichi turned heads when it shared the title of its first WiiWare game: Let's Hitchhike. IGN at long last knows all about the game, and now their heads are totally spinning!

The final name for the Japanese version of the game is "Let's Zenryoku Hitchhike!!!!!!!!!" which translates to "Let's Full Power Hitchhike," followed by exactly nine exclamation points.

As you might guess from both the original and new name, the point of this game is to successfully hitchhike your way to the goal. A butcher is, for some unexplained reason, after you and your family, and you've got to get to the goal before he catches you by hitchhiking from car to car.
