Famitsu readers name their 50 most wanted sequels

Japanese Gaming publication Famitsu recently held a reader poll to see which games it's readers would like to see sequels to.

The results are in and they sure are an interesting bunch.

Shenmue would be my top choice for sure, followed by a TRUE Phantasy Star sequel. Phantasy Star 5...none of this online stuff.

It's among the best. It's unique, enchanting and immersive at the same time with great story, incredible music score and great gameplay. But there are too many incredible games so It's hard to say "da best". I still have my DC and original Shenume discs. For me Shenmue is on par with MGS series and Dungeon Keeper, which are by far, my favourite titles.

I'm surprised to see ZOE and Valkyria Chronicles so high on that list, even if they do deserve it. But what really surprised me was Panzer Dragoon at #24. I love those games and here I thought everyone else had forgotten about them.

Shenmue 3? Hell yes, but is it little too late now? How would new gamers accept it? Would they be forced to reboot franchise and start all over? To many questions

Remakes + sequels. I would piss my pants from anticipation. Acutally they could do both Shenmue parts as a single game on multiple mediums, or even one(in case of PS3) like a recent Riddick and do the sequels.

I wouldnt worry about valkyria and demon souls chances of getting a sequel . Especially Demon souls

I still need to play Demon Souls. Its coming to NA/Euro right? Otherwise I'll import. Valkyrie Chronicles should get a sequel. The game is selling pretty well these days. Good for Sega and gamers.

We dont know . it wasnt the plan , but sales might have changed their mind . If at the e3 they dont announce it , i think it's over for a potential us/eu version .

Shenmue is a great gift to gamers from the industry and in my opinion the best thing Sega ever did for us but from a business perspective they just can't afford to make that kind of risk again.

It cost them $70 million in production costs making it the most expensive games ever made until just last year when GTAIV finally topped it with $100 million.

At least Sega are still dishing out original title like Valkyria Chronicles.

Sadly not that many played the excellent V , after the serie's reputation was stained by stuff like suiko IV . Not to mention that Konami isnt helping the fond memories neither with Tierkreis :s

Okami at number 3! I would love a sequel to okami... hopefully for wii with motion + battle system so every battle isn't just like running around while shaking a baby. If it wasn't for that battle system (and the credits thing) okami wii would have been perfect.
