This shows that one upside of having hardware limitations is that it sometimes forces developers to come up w/ more efficient algorithms or different ways of accomplishing things programmatically. In terms of graphics, more polygons doesn't always mean better 3D. Things like texture maps, shading, and mipmapping produce far better results than just maxing out polygon count. It's refreshing to see this kind of innovation in the videogame industry.
