Faith Fighter is Back with a Non-Violent Sequel

Yesterday, Italian game site Molleindustria took down its 1 year old Faith Fighter parody game offline. This was cause by the pressure from the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). However, less than one day Molleindustria put up a sequel to Faith Fighter.

Faith Fighter - The Profits of Hate

Article introduction: "Trolls - they're the underpass-dwelling cretins you love to hate. In the real world, rudeness can earn you a sock on the jaw, but the anonymity of the net has made aggravation an art form. One cannot help but admire their works; how they stir up bitter arguments, then feign ignorance when their schemes are undone..."

Jesus vs. Muhammad: 'Controversial' flash game pulled

Gamer Limit writes: "Pursuant to the negative attention drawn by their web-based Faith Fighter, Italian designers at Molleindustria have opted to pull it from their site entirely. Though it hit the net over a year ago, the satirical fighting game was catapulted onto the mainstream radar screen after UK news outlet Metro ran a story on it this past Sunday, citing calls from various religious organizations for its removal.

A representative of the Organization of Islamic Conference's 'Islamophobia Observatory', upon learning of Faith Fighter and its premise, remarked that 'the computer game [is] incendiary in its content and offensive to Muslims and Christians.' "

Did this game really cause such a big stir? I'd never even heard of it until now.

Still, for what little it's worth, I really doubt the developers were trying to send any message with this game.

I got tired of worrying about religion when I realized that each religion pretty much beliefes in the same thing, except they believe in a different story.

All that really matters is that you believe that someone or something created all we see.

It's when people add a name to it and a skin color, etc. that religion becomes something potentially violent.

Dimly5474d ago

Is this really what god wants?

Leathersoup5473d ago

heh.. you prove to me that god exists and I'll worry about his hurt feelings.

potenquatro5473d ago

His in the eyes of all the suffering chidren of the world.

Fullish5474d ago

C'mon it's over a year old.

Religious people are a bunch of cry babies.

Fullish5473d ago

Everyone is a crybaby when it comes to something they believe in.

Jrome5473d ago (Edited 5473d ago )

only racists generalize people.

EDIT

Umm...i didn't call him racist for being against religion, there's nothing wrong with that.

I called him racist for generalizing a group of people.

Examples:

Black people are a bunch of cry babies.
White people are a bunch of cry babies.
Chinese people are a bunch of cry babies.

chrisjc5473d ago

Haha that's the first time since grade school I've heard someone calling another who's against religion "racist".

mt5473d ago

Fullish you hit it on the nail ..
bubble buddy

Nihilism5473d ago

i believe the word your after is prejudice...not racist, and only stupid people assume someone who is anti-religious is also racist..if that is what you meant...i hate stupid people and i'm not racist...prejudice maybe..but with good reason, stupid people are stupid

socomnick5473d ago

Jesus christ lol he doesn't exist by the way, but seriously people need to stop playing the race card. It seems when someone gets offended now they always go for that sweet race card the ace of spades that overpowers logic and any of the other cards. By the way jrome. Religion does not = race lol. This is clearly and example of why religious people need to step back and get an education. They are blinded by their false sense of faith.

The Qur’an tells us a lot of wonderful things about Jesus. As a result, believers in the Qur’an love Jesus, honour him, and believe in him. In fact, no Muslim can be a Muslim unless he or she believes in Jesus, on whom be peace.

Muhammad in the Bible:
http://www.islamicity.com/M...

As a Muslim I dont find this offensive because of its level of ignorance. What I find offensive is this article being an open gate for ignorant people to poor there hate.

A world without religion would be a more peaceful world.

rambi805473d ago (Edited 5473d ago )

people will always find something completely inane + pointless to fight over
eg - console wars
But i'd like to see it go too

Fat Bastard5473d ago (Edited 5473d ago )

A world without "religion" would also not exist. Unless you really can go down to a beach and kick around the sand for a billion years and come up with a Rolex watch

Jrome5473d ago

Yeh, religion is just their easiest excuse right now.

Without it they would still find reasons.

Kind of like going to iraq for the oi[l]...err i mean Weapons of mass destruction :\

Awesome Possum5473d ago

You obviously haven't seen the episode of South Park about atheism

patterson5473d ago

I'm not an atheist if that's what you're implying.
I'm agnostic.

I simply do not know if there is a god or not and don't pretend that I know all the answers.

Now if the worlds religions would quit fighting over who's right and who's wrong, it would be one less thing for the world community to segregate themselves from one another.

rambi805473d ago (Edited 5473d ago )

@patterson
I'm not trying to pick a fight with you so please don't take what i say the wrong way.
However, according to anthropologists, people will always look for a way to separate themselves as a means of forging an identity.
Its a very interesting field of study and gives u great insights into human behaviour.
EDIT : sorry i did not see ur comment below

patterson5473d ago (Edited 5473d ago )

No offense taken.

See my post below (#10)

People will find reasons to fight whether it's religion, color of skin, what console you like, etc.. good point. I totally agree.
But it is one less thing. One less MAJOR thing that people will fight over. But that kind of world is impossible. Just thinking utopian.

ZuperAmazingCooKie5473d ago

A more tolerant world would be better.

WonderboyIII5473d ago

Islam is a religion with a complete law. Nothing wrong with laws that protect people from themsleves and from others. Its the fight to stop those laws from being applied that causes conflicts. Why do you think the previous divine revelations were altered? Humans want to gamble and lose their houses, drink alcohol and destroy their livers and rape their daughters and be around pigs and share diseases like swine flus.

One day you will know the truth. Death is comming to a place near you.

rambi805473d ago (Edited 5473d ago )

Dear Mr Sunshine,

If ever i have the urge to be ordered around, i'll join the military and at least get paid for it.
Until then, i'll use my "god-given" intellect to decide sense from non-sense.

If u have found joy in religion then i am happy for you. I have found happiness away from it. Like most parents, i think that that is what god wants more than anything. Stop selling him short by projecting your own insecurities.

Leathersoup5473d ago

@Fat Bastard - You're forgetting the issue of complexity. You're saying that nothing complex can exist without being created. If so then who created "god" who seems to be the most complex entity ever to be imagined.

@WonderboyIII - Wake up. You've been fed a line and you're eating it up. Religion is a lie made up by people who don't know how to explain things and are too lazy to try to figure out how and why things actually are.

Lol Sauce5473d ago

Well, religion DID transfer all of our information and got us out of the dark ages by creating many copies of information including creation of the first question mark and the first colon to enlighten people... got us a lot farther.
