And the price tag of PS3 is not high. A stand-alone Blu-ray player cost more than the PS3, so how come the PS3 is expensive? I mean, quality costs more, as it always have been.

There's no way any of that had any effect on PS3 demand, but it was just funny.

For Sony, god I feel sorry for them at this point. Where's Ken's famous quote realized "I want to work more hours to afford a PS3"??? They still may wind up on top in the end (doubt it), but there just isn't any demand for the thing yet... anywhere.

Remember folks, the competition benefits us all--we don't want a one-console market. The more they compete (and hopefully somewhat equally), the more they try to win the hearts of the public. That being said, I don't consider the Wii to be "next-gen", just a GameCube with gimmicky controller that may leave favor in a few months after everyone gets tired of carpel tunnel from Wii bowling (I actually think Sony's controller implements the motion sensing the best so far, but no force feedback?!?). I'm sure Nintendo is already working on their HD machine/7.1 surround and more horsepower. As of now, they are kicking both M$ & Sony in terms of demand. Once more people get HD tvs, they will want that HD experience. As a 360 owner, I'd like them to go M$'s way as it further supports my console purchase with more developer support (more consoles sold = more titles). For now, I'm buying more games than I've ever bought before, and more to come including Ace6! I've got more gaming goodness to get in than I have time in the day. gCM

Microsoft is being really childish right now. Come on, they are trying to spoil the PS3 launch as much as possible, and if you you don't call that childish, then I don't know what to call it. What did Sony do when Xbox 360 launched? Nothing. Because they are proper buisness men, who are pulling punches as a real man. When I hear about all these Microsoft "Anti-PS3" campaigns, I really see a stupid little child rolling on the floor in the supermarket, crying out loud, just for some silly candy. That's the picture I get.

And I don't even think it's humor. There is really no fun in this.

Microsoft floater? Sending SMS messages? Giving chairs to PS3 lineuppers? Seriously, is this supposed to be competition to the onehundred Sony Bravia television they handed out for absolutely free? Is it really competionen for showing lineuppers their new James Bond Movie? For first, Microsoft would never give away things for that amount of money that Sony did with the TV's. Microsoft are only focused on selling, and making PR so cheap as possible. Drowning Sony PR? That is really bad karma.

Microsoft is two things, double moraled and childish. Now they release a new "PS3 like" version of their Xbox. It look just like a PS3, it even has a silver trim just like the PS3. And it has bigger HDD and HDMI. And what does Sony do? Nothing! They are not throwing mud at Microsoft like writing; "Microsoft... You're late with the HDMI!"

And this is why I hate Microsoft, they are so stupid and silly. And their games cost 10$ more.

I don't think PS3 is loosing ground I think it's the opposite way, and by the way PS3 launched in Europe, so it actually gained ground. I think you are acting like the fanboy now. Sony never "interupted" MS PR or anything like it. Of course they say it's better, they have done all the time (and so it is). They use words not , impudence as giving PS3 lineuppers chairs and drowning Sony PR.

I never said that Sony don'y copy, all consoles copy! For an example, MS copied Gran Turismo and made Forza. Halo - Killzone. Wii-mote - SIXAXIS. PS3 HDMI standard - Xbox 360 new HDMI Elite version of Xbox 360.

Everyone copy more or less, and what is wrong with that?

...not the antics MS pulled, while childish they didn't bash the PS3 like Sony did to the 360. They also didn't spread false information about the PS3 like Sony did to the 360.

Either way, though, the important part of the story is how little the PS3 sold and how few people actually showed up to these events. This seems even worse than the luke warm reception the PS3 had in both NA and Japan.

Whatever was said by Sony about 360 was said by officials and they pay price for it i.e. bad press, Kutarogi got fired/"promoted".

Both companies bash competing consoles. Neither MS or Sony is a SAINT.

Sending SMSs,blowing whistles from rooftops, giving chairs with printed web link to 'welcome to next gen Sony' that's a bit low and lack of respect for competition and customers waiting in line to buy PS3.
How would you feel if you were waiting in line to buy XBOX 360 and i.e. Nintendo hand you something saying

Just as Sony made really dumb statements in the past, MS seems to start following the same path.
