No PS3 Bionic Commando MP Demo

Capcom has confirmed it will not be releasing a PS3 version of the Bionic Commando MP demo.

The demo was the one chance they had for me to consider this game. BC looks like a relativity mediocre game so far. Maybe if a friend of mine gets it and lets me try it out I can see if its worth it, but there are WAY too many great games coming out for me to even look at this one twice.

another reason to not buy this game. the first one being the lack of updating BC:rearmed with the trophy support they told us they would last year...
and they wonder why games sell more on the 360? I'm not forking over my hard earned cash for a mediocre game that they don't even want me to try out.

Well no demo no buy simple as that. As a consumer my enjoyment should be the most important thing, so basically you won't be getting any of my money. This also leads to bad relationship with your consumers and thus leaves a sour taste for future capcom projects.

While Infamous and Prototype were kind of similar, Bionic Commando was supposed to be different, a game that required more skills, with a different pace, another structure, maybe less fun and button mushing but more "hardcore", if you understand what I mean.

But if I can't try the game, well, I'll go for the fun.

I know I'm not even going to consider buying it until I can try it on both systems. If the multiplayer is good, it's an automatic PS3 purchase (or not at all) because I don't (and will never) have an XBL gold membership.

I'll try the demo on my 360 and when the game comes out I'll check it out at my local play n trade for the ps3 version. then I'll make a choice as to whether I'm gonna get the full game or not.

Sigh. Maxcer, a lack of a demo means a lack of the ability to test drive a NEW IP. I wouldn't have given Uncharted or Valkyria Chronicles a second's thought if there wasn't a demo.

Also, people were generally gravitating towards Versus BEFORE it was announced for the 360 because the main character is cooler (and male) and the trailer was more action packed (involved the guy flying through the air with hundreds of swords).

As for Lost Planet, the first one DID suck on the PS3. It was a half-assed port and ran terribly.

So I don't think there is a trend.

So Capcom gets an entire corner of the PS Store all to itself before any other publisher, yet the 360 still gets their exclusive demo? Umm, does anyone else see something wrong with this picture? Why even bother having a Capcom store when it can't even get the latest demos when the competition does (RE5 demo came out first on 360 too)? What makes them so special to PSN again? Well in my case i'm on the fence about the game .
I liked bionic commando back in the days , now i'm not so sure .
And especially when i'm not a fan of the hero with dreadlocks . Nothing against dreads , but he just doesnt look anything interesting and special .

And all i've seen so far are the usual spiderman game mechanics probably done a bit better , but no WOW factor , nothing actually appealing . hell i dont think i'd even play that in multiplayer

A demo could help decide i like it or not , but hey they dont want to .
And it would be fine to not release the demo , if there wasnt actually one around ! But there is one they just wouldnt release it one ps3 .

So yeah i'm gonna say screw the game if they dont do that kind of effort . i'm swamped with better games that are exclusives , a backlog of a few ps2 and wii rpgs , or multiplatform franchises like street fighter or rock band that i actually adore .
So yeah i'm not going to bother with that game , with stuff like Infamous around the corner

Well, this has less to do with Sony charging developers (as demos fall under the cost of marketing) and more to do with the lucrative marketing deal Capcom signed with MS (this includes week long exclusive RE5 demo, exclusive RE5/360 bundle, and "exclusive" Lost Planet 2). Anywho, the lack of a demo will not decide whether I buy a game or not. Whether I like the way the game looks (I do not) and whether the game gets good press (it has been mixed so far) will ultimately determine whether I purchase a game or not.

We, with our money, made companies like Capcom what they are now, and they give us they're back, only because they get bribes from Microsoft.

I'm a Sony loyalist but I'm not against multiplatform titles (even if I know that multiplat titles won't be the better titles) and I undestrand that the first target of a company is to realize money, but are we really sure that the money that Capcom (or Square-Enix, or whatever) are more than the money they lose by constantly pissing us off?

Demos are advertising. They exist to let gamers try their game, and hopefully, love it enough to buy it.

Playing the exclusive game with a freaking demo is ridiculous.

There are too many games and too little time for me to go out and spend $60 on a game that I don't even know I'll like. And I'm not going out of my way and spending money to rent it either.

If developers want to rip the right of physical media ownership away from their consumers, they themselves should be prepared to pay the dues of digital shelf space. Expecting the end user to front the money in the form of XBL model membership fees is double dipping into the consumers wallet.
