Eurogamer Portugal published some exclusive screenshots comparing the two versions from the Red Faction: Guerrilla demo. Check them out.
Xbox 360 version more darker.
Yep, that's about as far as it goes. Adjust the contrast to suit.
With that said, first two comments are best. Darkness about the only MAJOR issue here, just adjust. PS3 demo functioned perfectly. Loved it.
It isn't grotesquely dark, and is crisper; the 360 version appears to have a blur filter on it.
The only difference i saw was that the shadows on the 360 version have some fuzz on them and the ps3 again struggles with transparency effects forcing downrendering(a lot more detail in the explosion on the 360 because the PS3 is rendering that part of the scene at a lower resolution than normal then blowing it up because transparency effects require a lot of bandwidth that the PS3 is weak on).
There is a full-rez option...make sure to look at those instead of the half-size popup.
Seriously there is no difference at all. Adjust the lighting/contrast in-game or on your TV. That's all folks!
But it's barely noticeable.
you can see the screen shots were taken at different times of day causing the 360 to be darker. the PS3 surprisingly has better textures. i think the fire screen was taken right when the thing blew up on the ps3 so it looks blurry and the 360 one was taken a little bit after. the 360 does do shadows better, the shadows are kinda like rubbed smooth on edges as where ps3 just has very fine kinda crappy lines overall same ps2 style quality
It shouldnt b Ps3 vs 360 screenshots it should b Ps2 vs Xbox the graphics r really really poor i expected alot better I loved the 1st 2 games aswell
There are no jeggies. What are you talking about??? Ever tried stop being a fanboy??? Only differences is that the PS3 version is lighter and the 360 version is darker.
Yep that pretty much settles it, the 360 version is darker. Played it on the PS3 and its a pretty good game would of been better if it was a FPS though.
"more darker" is redundant.
Hellsvacancy is on the right track. The game doesn't even rate on the rental list. 'Horrible' would be putting it kindly.
Pics look quite similar, in that they both look like an uninteresting third-person shooter. Haven't played the demo yet, but the videos looked...boring. Pulling off third-person games has changed so much in the past few years, this whole set-up seems archaic and dated. This feels like it will play like Mercs 2, which was not exactly awesome. It seems like the dev team had, "hooray explosions!" posted all around their office, along with some smaller posters that said, "hammers are cool too, kinda"
I actually had to edit my reply, right before I posted it. I actually agreed with you BASED on your pics. But when I saw them for myself on their site, there were no jaggies? Did you do something to it? Pretty idiotic if you ask me. Anyhow, the only difference is the lighting. 360 is darker.
wow who are these sony fans tryna kid ps3 http://images.eurogamer.net... 360 http://images.eurogamer.net...
I am not getting your point?? What is the point of reshowing us the two comparison scans? It seems pretty obvious to me all the "sony fans" are dead on with the comparisons. All they said was that the 360 is darker, which it is. Other than that there are no big differences. What did I miss?
The 360 version's lighting looks more natural and has less aliasing, but the PS3 version seems to have more detailed textures and will probably have better physics (I haven't got the PS3 demo).
I swear for my penis that I didn't do anything to those pics. Look at the jaggies of the PS3 version: http://images.eurogamer.net... Now look at the X360 version and you'll see that it doesn't have any jaggies: http://images.eurogamer.net... -And now look at the same pics that I posted before, even the map on the left in the X360 version looks kinda blurry so, this is not something about the hour of day in the game. X360: http://images.eurogamer.net... PS3: http://images.eurogamer.net... All of them are direct from the site.... Now talking about my new record of disagrees, seriously, how can anybody disagree with facts again?
I went ahead and put the images to their original size, and yes, the jaggies did come up on the ps3 version. It's hard to notice these little things when they are re-imaged to a smaller size. You are correct in your observations. But your post didn't have to call the first two posters "blind". Not only that but it's a tiresome subject, which console has the best graphics for said game. But you used proof and stuck with it, I respect that. Yohan? I'm confused, has physics ever been in an issue in multiplatform games. Despite jaggies, anti-aliasing, textures, and lighting; when has physics ever been noticeably different in a game?
Ps3 and 360 fans united in their utter disgust of the graphics... er... everything in this game. Comparison on which looks the most bad. I'll probably pay tribute to the awesomeness of the first game when I buy this used after the price goes down.
Are they retarded!?!? Don't use f*cking jpeg compression! It looks butt ugly!
After printing out each picture and carefully analyzing each one under a microscope and counting the number of colors and counting every pixel in each slide and carefully blowing up each image to see the crevices of each item in every scenery I can now conclude that [insert your preferred console] has very slightly better graphics. [insert the console you don't own]'s fanboys need to wake up and realize these very slight and unnoticeable differences.
"You two sure are blind or something... The PS3 version has a lot of jaggies but it looks clearer and has better lighting. The X360 version has a lot less jaggies but it looks blurrier and darker. edit: Good job at disagreeing with facts moron. =)" "PS3 version has the edge It isn't grotesquely dark, and is crisper; the 360 version appears to have a blur filter on it." omg, that's antialiasing, (2x from the looks of it, maybe more i don't know) ,the 360 doesn't use blur filters..........wtf? http://images.eurogamer.net... http://images.eurogamer.net... (look at the top of that small stone blockade) edit, 360 has a slight "AA" advantage of sorts, well to know what 2xAA looks like will use "mirror's edge" as simple comparison. http://forum.beyond3d.com/s... http://forum.beyond3d.com/s... that's 2xaa.
This game is far from impressive.
oh i forgot this one http://forum.beyond3d.com/s... it comes before this http://forum.beyond3d.com/s...
I agree with you the 360 version has better contrast making it not as washed out looking. The PS3 version is also missing detail. Sony needs to get some exclusives out fast I'm sick of not having anything to play on my PS3 because of this. Time after time the 360 comes out on top.
I hope you're being sarcastic.
Get real. Strange. From these pics the PS3 version's main character seems more crisp but the 360 version has more detail and better contrast. To me it looks like they got more from the 360 overall. I'm willing to bet the PS3 version is not doing something the 360 version is doing while the game is playing. The PS3 version is probably not pulling off some visual effects the 360 version is but they had a little to work with although not enough to match the 360 version they made the character crisp with the little they had.
1) I was a silly fanboy 2) I thought this game was any good to begin with 3) Unicorns flew out of my butt In any case, the game is not even on my radar. It just looks generic. Maybe a bargain bin game?
360 may be darker but the explosions look miles better than the PS3
I dont get why you guys bother comparing the graphics of a crappy looking game. It's like to say yours looks worse than mine. This is beyond me. Obviously visuals are not the selling point of this game, lets hope the gameplay make up for it.
Sigh... What was the game (worth mentioning) which had huge discrepancies between the two? Can't we all just get along!?
Just wait until ff13. People will be zooming into the scans just to point out slight jagged edges that are otherwise imposable to identify. It really is a funny process worthy of a sigh! edit - my mistake people are already doing that.
that there's a pixel in the 8th boss's ass, in FF 13, that is 1/4 of a shade darker on 360 than PS3. I think it's clear which version I'll be getting now.
For me Xbox360 better look.
How about ... You own an XBOX 360 so it looks better even tough the PS3 looks more detailed.
They're more or less the same. The PS3 version is slightly more detailed with better filtering in some areas while the 360 version has better shadows and anti-aliasing.
How about you both shut up.
I played both demos. I actually preferred the look of the ps3 version which is unusal for multi-format games. The 360 version didn't look as crisp and was darker.
ps3 have more rocks / 360 have more sand , ps3 have better lightning / 360 has rrod after 3rd screenshot
The PS3 screenshots have framerate issues.
lol. All logic just left the Open Zone.
Man i have heard a lot of retarded stuff in my time but screenshots having framerate issues absolutely tops the list, do you even know what framerate is? its the number of frames to a unit of time like FPS frames per second, now how you managed to think you can capture bad framerate on a picture is beyond me, the ONLY way you can see bad frame is through video, ingame or slow motion. Your utter attempt of trying to insult the playstation is just pitiful you just make up a load of bullsh*t to fulfill your satifaction, to you it doesn't matter if it makes sense it just the simple fact you think your being smart, well let me break it to you...your not!
who are these sony fans tryna kid ps3 http://images.eurogamer.net... 360 http://images.eurogamer.net... oh man its unbelievable
Those screens are too tiny 360man. The same screens you're posting but bigger: PS3: http://images.eurogamer.net... X360: http://images.eurogamer.net... BTW these are the only pics were both versions look similar, nice way of spinning this. But now look at this flat textures on the X360. lol PS3: http://images.eurogamer.net... X360: http://images.eurogamer.net... Look at the terrain were the woman's walking on the PS3 version... Now look at the same place on the X360 to see flat textures! YAY! This is what's called nitpicking? Lol But that doesn't change that the X360 has some flat textures here and there combined with blurrynes while the PS3 version has come jaggies here and there. =)
Predator, have you ever heard of sarcasm? Btw, yes, the ps3 screenshots do have frame rate drops. It's awful!
screenshots having framerate issues? I guess that is why he calls himself gaystation; his arguments are packed with (that stuff you pull out your a$$)
Gaystation was kidding. How can you take that seriously? He's just a guy on here who likes having fun. Take a joke!
I thought the 360 version looked better in some shots and the PS3 looked better in others. All it really comes down to is contrast differences. For all intents and purposes they look exactly the same.
5gb of this game will need to be installed to the PS3 just to have it play in 15fps and only 6 people will buy it.
For me comparison useless.
PS3 has better lighting. Of course we all know the difference; one system apparently wasn't maxed thanks to this game.
The game looks the same on the 2 machines.
Nope. I counted more hair cells on the X360 version. EDIT @ solidjun5 : If people can count pixels then I can count hair cells.
you can't count. Even if you can, that comment was ridiculous.
Oh yeah well...well...In The xbox 360 version the guys hair is shinier and more full of body!!!
wheres jason360 and themart/pog? they usually like to comment on these...it helps them sleep at night
one game makes you pay $50 to play on line and the other version doesn't. one version let's you "cross-chat" while online, the other doesn't. Free online > "cross-chat" or one version may get scratched (in your system) and the other one is on bluRay (which can take scratches) (not talking about capacity on this one)..... or one version may over heat your system, the other may require some "annoying" install.
one game doesn't make you pay $50 online.
If it's the only game you want to take online for the system, then yeah it would. Otherwise, that complete BS.
Most of us purposely bought a 360 because we want to pay for the better online experience. Either way though, its now 40$ a year which = 11 cents a day. We always reserve the option to buy a PS3 and play online for free if we would prefer. Thus the ability to Chat, using voice, in real-time, with everyone else in the game is one of the benefits we get for paying for Xbox Live. As for scratching, the original version of the Xbox360... scratches disks, if you move it while the disk is spinning. If your moving your console around while its on, you deserve to get your disk scratched. However this issue is irrelevant now. Lastly, The reason the PS3 requires installs is because blu-ray cannot stream textures and other components off the disk fast enough for them to render in real time. Thus making the PS3's use of blu-ray somewhat negligible. And who's system overheats? are you implying the 360 overheats? SINCE WHEN? I play my launch box plenty, i'v played Fallout 3 for SEVERAL HOURS STRAIGHT. I have accidentally left my 360 on for nearly a week straight and continued playing it without letting it cool down. I have never once had an issue with overheating.....
If that's true, how come Killzone 2 didn't have an install? I don't remember one anyway. You could very well be right, but if I remember correctly, that wouldn't make any sense. Lets not get into overheating please. Simply put, if I wanted to burn someone's house down, I'd buy them a 360. Grats to Microsoft though, you got people to buy a product so faulty, it pales in comparison to PCs carelessly slapped together by nerds in their basements (which don't overheat after months of Fallout 3). Seriously, I wasn't gonna take a stab until I read something about defending RROD.
Yep the PS3 version is better, anyway i didn't like the game...
Game looks like crap on both consoles.
We have a winner
exactly the game really isn't that great to look at to begin with so a minor difference really isn't sheet not saying its a bad looking game though its all about the physics baby
Am I the only one that can't see a difference other then the brightness?
