MGU Review: Get Smart

The comedic spy show turned comedic spy film has now made the inevitable transition to comedic spy mobile game. Playing as Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway's characters from the movie, you get to trade insults with foes and foil the plans of sinister criminals like DVD pirates, and the evil organisation known as KAOS.

Action takes place from a side-on view, with left and right on the d-pad (or 4 and 6 on the numeric keys) controlling your main movement. The corridors are two-ply, allowing you to move up and down as well as forward and back, which will be handy when you need to hide behind walls to avoid enemies. Although you're informed that a simple press of 2 or 8 (which can again be substituted for up and down) will be enough to move you in these directions, you'll often find that you have to double-tap them instead to provoke a reaction.

The same goes for the action button (or 5 on the keypad) which often requires two quick presses to get the reaction you require. This can be especially frustrating when you're trying to sneak up on enemies for a stealth kill, only to have them turn around before you can execute your planned attack.
