Resistance Multiplayer Update Now Online

No new maps, but how about Team Conversion and Team Assault?

Insomniac Games is treating gamers well lately. Last week, 1UP and EGM helped reveal Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction to the world and logging onto Resistance: Fall of Man this morning means a chance to download the first of several planned content updates.

Most people are reporting the download takes between 15-20 minutes to complete, and the big content additions are two new gametypes: Team Conversion and Team Assault. Complete details on both can be found in our previous article, but dedicated online players should be happy to see "Round Balancing" implemented in this update (thanks, MyResistance forums):

"Round balancing can be set "on" or "off" (default: on) when round balancing is on, if the number of players on each team is uneven at the end of the round, players will be moved from the team with to many players to the team with too few players. Parties will not be separated, So its not guaranteed to result in a perfectly balanced teams. Round Balancing is turned "on" for ranked games."

Additional maps will also be available for Resistance in May.

. Here they come "Sony Defense Force"

I see a Microsoft Offensive force making a buzz instead. He's praising an update and new free content to the owners of the games which is very good. What not to praise?? Give credit when credit is due. What the "SDF" all about. It was you who go to the offensive instead.

They keep updating and keeping their users happy. I hope motorstorm does this as well. That game is one of the best games I've ever played. The only downfall is lack of content. If they do updates like insomniac, I will be one happy man.

I agree fenderputty I hope with Motorstorm they do the same thing. Having developers update and add new things to already released games is a great way to build up loyalty and attract new fans to your game. Then when you come out with your next release RFoM 2 or Motorstorm 2 you have a huge following of fans who will definately buy it.

If you try and nickle and dime people who buy your games you will end up with nothing in the end. Thats not to say they can't release a substantial upgrade and charge a reasonable amount of money for it similar to what MMO's to with expasnion packs but they also need to add tweaks and other lesser upgrades and features for free.
