3Dconnexion Releases 3D Input Device SDK

Logitech subsidiary 3DConnexion has announced the release of a freely downloadable software developers kit (SDK) for implementing support for the company's line of 3D navigation devices within 3D design applications.

The new SDK includes instructions and examples of application source code, as well as code samples in C+, Visual Basic and Java. In addition, 3Dconnexion offers support resources exclusively for developers, including a developer's forum and dedicated e-mail support.

3Dconnexion's devices are used as companions to the mouse and keyboard and are held in the alternate hand to simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate camera views as well as 3D objects. The 3Dconnexion product line is supported popular application such as Google Earth, Adobe Acrobat 3D and Autodesk Maya.
