Thunderbolt: Corsair Review

Community Games don't have a lot to live up to, and there isn't much expectation, so when a title fails to stand out in any way, shape or form it doesn't hurt as badly as throwing down $60. This is possibly the one positive point that can be made for Corsair, a throwback shooter that fails to emulate even the most generic contenders that came before it. Five dollars rarely feels so wasted.

Pros

+ While simplistic, the visuals are clean

Cons

- Simply not fun to play
- Poor control scheme
- Ridiculously repetitive
- No on-screen legend for reference
- Lacking any sort of personality or creativity
- Not even worth the low price of admission
- No plot or narration

AlienBEware Episode V: The Wallet Strikes Back

Igniq.com:

Back in August I set out to build a decent PC gaming rig without breaking the bank. I wanted to show how much money can be saved when purchasing all the parts separately and assembling it yourself.

Since the PC is now built, I figured I’d follow the last post up with some performance benchmarks and updates on the changes made (notably the price). It has pretty much remained the same apart from the graphics card and a few minor changes. But the few minor changes have saved even more money.

I like the guy’s idea behind building it yourself. But versus Alienware, I could give my 9 year old a credit card and let him order and build a new PC and it would be cheaper than a Alienware PC.

Alienware and IBuyPower are so darn expensive. They have their uses though as they allow those who are not sure about building a PC themselves get high powered machines with one credit card swipe and a kidney donation.

Half the fun is building it yourself kinda like tuning a mustang or an import.

Destructoid: Corsair Review

Brad N: "I don't want to take too much away from Corsair -- it looks decent by Community Games standards and the soundtrack isn't the most annoying I've heard. Plus, the multiplayer options are fairly robust. However, the good aspects are ultimately crushed by the horrendous controls, boring level design, and redundancies. Definitely look to sink your coin into something else."

AATG: Corsair Review

AATG:

"Corsair For Microsoft Xbox 360If you're in the market for a good score based shooter with plenty of fast and frenetic action and presentation that's a notch above the usual Community fare, at least give the demo a go and see what you think. For the attractive impulse-buy price of 400 points it's a superb effort and one that deserves a few hours of your attention."
