F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin PC multiplayer in jeopardy

The future of F.E.A.R. 2 as a competitive multiplayer game was dealt a massive blow when it was announced that it won't be supported by server files, anti-cheat or an SDK.

Since F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin was released in February, fans have been holding out for more from the multiplayer component of the game. Questions were raised before the game hit the shelves as to whether server files would be released.

Such a shame the game was bastardized in order to appeal to the fratboy console kiddies.

Yeah. I agree. They did the same thing to Rainbow Six, Wolfenstien, and a few others.

We can always count on consoles to lower the bar for video games. :(

I agree and concur. In fact, I concurrently agree and concur.

1st impression: "ewww! Someone spilled console all over my FPS!"

Especially considering console gamers didn't really even ask for the games. Why is it that developers feel like they have to dumb games down for the console crowd. All it does is make the game weaker for all sytems. Weaker does not mean more accessible, it means less fun.

It's sad. But I can't say that I really care. After playing 15 minutes in to the demo (PC), I knew that FEAR2 wasn't for me.

Maybe they wanted to make some money instead of releasing it as a PC exclusive and not make ANY money due to piracy?

I think Valve would like to have a word with you...

@ Ghost of Sparta

Yeah, because everyone knows that there is no piracy on consoles....

- Ghost of Sparta -3792d ago (Edited 3792d ago )

On PS3? Nope.

Open Zone buddy.

Every thing you just said is the opposite of what is actually happening. Seriously, you don't need to get defensive...

"no piracy on PS3 because it is basically a dead console."

Thanks for showing me that you aren't worth replying to.

I'll just leave you with this.

Im afraid,

I can tell you first hand that the increased budgets required to pump out game assets for current-gen tech means you need to sell more units. And you can't sell enough units on a PC anymore (unless you prefix the game with World-of....)

If you remove console gaming, you lose 80% of your PC games as well unfortunately.
