Triggerheart Exelica Enhanced's New Opening Movie

Last week Alchemist's PS2 port of Triggerheart Exelica came out in Japan. An animated opening by P.A. Works who previously worked on True Tears was one of the new features. There aren't any signs of the PS2 version coming out overseas, but you can still see the opening video thanks to a YouTube uploader.

Imagine, for a second, you knew nothing about Triggerheart Exelica. What kind of game would you think it is based on the opening alone?

Well, I seriously know heck about this game but based on the opening I think that it is one of those crappy strategy jrpg's that Japanese people love so much...

edit: It was a shoot em up. Lol

Too much opening for such little game.

Triggerheart Exelica Limited Edition Set Shoots Up The Cute

Arcade shooter Triggerheart Exelica is getting a PS2 port, called Triggerheart Exelica -Enhanced-. There's a limited edition version for the PS2.

Packaged with an Exelica figure from figure maker Good Smile Company, the limited edition version includes a balloon for those who pre-ordered. The game includes new elements like an opening movie and new CG cutscenes.

Triggerheart Exelica was released in Japanese arcades in 2006 on SEGA's Naomi arcade hardware and ported to the Dreamcast the following year. The PlayStation 2 version is on sale today.

Triggerheart Exelica enhanced with playable Faintear

Siliconera Reports:

"Alchemist is unraveling the "enhanced" portion of Triggerheart Exelica Enhanced. Faintear, the main enemy, will be a playable character in the PlayStation 2 release with a new story mode. Kalna is a new character too, but she's just a visible C'rna_dyne support ship. Something is better than nothing, but it's hard to justify the 8,190 yen ($75) suggested retail price."

Triggerheart Exelica is expensive on the PS2

Siliconera reports: "Triggerheart Exelica will get a PlayStation 2 port under the name Triggerheart Exelica Enhanced. Details haven't been announced what's "enhanced" in Alchemist's version, but it better be something substantial. Triggerheart Exelica on the Xbox 360 costs 800 Microsoft Points which equates to about 1,184 yen ($11) in Japan. Yes, Microsoft Points have different values in different regions. Even though Triggerheart Exelica is 10% more expensive in Japan it's a steal considering Alchemist is going to sell it for 8,190 yen ($75). Sure everyone in Japan doesn't have an Xbox 360, but it's difficult to justify the cost. The limited edition, bundled with a figure pictured above, costs 13,440 yen ($125). I'm sure it will sell though since it comes with a toy for Triggerheart Exelica fans to add to their collection."
