DSi - 57,100 PSP - 52,500 PS3 - 21,100 Wii - 16,800 DSL - 8,900 PS2 - 4,800 X360 - 4,800
big big lol @360!
Cha-ching! And that was before the PS2 price cut. Oh it's looking great for Sony.
Looks like a pretty close race between the two consoles that use DVD9
^^^You do your name justice. Bubbles.
I'm personally surprised PS3 sales have stayed this high this long. I thought they would have reverted back to the 13,000 monthly by now. Good for sony I thought PS2 price cut was for NA only
No the PS2 price cut is for everywhere else except the UK....
LOL I'm not even gonna bother about a ps2 beats....joke. Sony is truelly in a strong position with the whole ps family.
The story translation is Chinese.
uhh a majority of the words are japanese symbols. and some japanese words use chinese characters as well.
360 can't even out sell a 10 year old console LMAO!
very closeeee (aka old generation) XD
Another week above the wii!
4,800 360 dammm
keyword : early.
They have been accurate in the past.
normally you can expect figures to be a lil higher when the final estimate comes out , I still think the 360 will edge out the PS2 this week but next week I expect atleast 15k ps2 SOLD,.
According to Famitsu, the PS2 outsold the 360.
If this was an arm wrestling match, the 360 just got beat by Grandpa.
I guess the Star Ocean boost has reached it's peak for the 360 in Japan... it's been a while since I can remember 360 sales being THIS low... I guess it's time for M$ to secure another JRPG :) With the FFVII Advent Children PS3 bundles coming out this month, PS3 sales should be pretty healthy this month in the Land of the Rising Sun. And I agree with Sonarus, I didn't expect PS3 sales to be this high in Japan for this long, but with so many games that appeal to the Japanese that have recently been released for the PS3 (RE5, SF4, Yakuza 3) it's really been keeping PS3 sales above or near 20K a week.
What is out there for them to secure? Namco is busy with Tales of Graces (Wii) and Tales of Vesperia (PS3). Tri-Ace's new RPG is PS360. SE is working to get DQIX (DS) and FFXIII (PS3) out later this year. Nippon Ichi is localizing Cross Edge (PS3) and its assumed that they will begin localizing Atelier Rorona (PS3) after thats out in June. Microsoft needs a Mistwalker game and they need it out soon. Either that or they need to airdrop some moneybags on Atlus's front doorstep for a Persona 5 exclusive deal. But even then I'm not so sure Atlus would take the deal considering the PS3's rising popularity this year and the software its been pushing in Japan coupled with the 360's return to the japanese subterranean of sales known as "You got outsold by PS2". Microsoft are pretty much cornered here.
Sad thing about another Mistwalker game if I recall correctly they canceled the game they was working on for the 360. I didn't play either Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey but most people seem to agree on them being solid games, nothing extraordinary but I would like to see more from Mistwalker.
I've heard nothing but good things about Mistwalker and if they ever decide to develop for the PS3 then I will definitely check their games out. Until then I wish them the best of luck. BTW that game you are thinking of was Cry On.
If im not mistaken didn't Mistwalker sign a 3 or 5 game deal with M$ ?? either way Lost Odyssey is so far my fave RPG on the 360 pretty good game
According to this press release it was a 2 game deal. Maybe they signed another deal after the success of BD and LO? http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
i hope star ocean not helping much the 360..... ^^
The PS3 is definitely on the rise, and this is without a price cut. The PS2 is simply legendary nothing can stop this console, and now it has an even lower price. look out 360
Sony is more interested in stabilization and financial security than they are concerned about market share. They have a long term plan and aren't really worried and have been slow to rise. It's like playing Command and Conquer and the one guy jumps out quick and attacks, attacks, attacks and the other guy quietly keeps building his defenses and his strike forces marshaling a whirlwind because the smart gamer knows that you usually can't seep in an take someone out early. It costs such players their long term legs and burns them out. Then when they are down to few forces out comes this massive horde the other player patiently constructed.
is SONY making a profit from the PS3 yet? If not it seems that the sales of the PSP and PS2 should help make the difference.
Whether they are or not is not something I indicated. Cutting the price certainly will not get them there. If software sales are included as an offset then they likely are turning a profit on the PS3 right now.
good post Morgan! people do hot understand that a sprinter wins over 200 metres, but a marathon runner paces himself for the duration of the 'real' race
That is an exacting analogy cliffbo.
When the ps2 has its price cut, the 360 is going to be at the bottom every single month XD.
if you are a shareholder or believe that for some reason the ps brand will falter in japan.news? hardly ,reason to gloat? debatable.surprised? no. as we were..................
Yes they're shareholders. IN FANDOM! FIFTY STOCKS OF SONY POWER!
These figures are from ASCII.
next week i expect around 1k sold 360s...
... crap. I was wrong. I thought Wii would have went back up.... PS3's really strong in JApan now.
