Microsoft Says, No Reggie, Xbox 360 Is Popular In Europe

Microsoft has told CVG that it is "very happy with how Xbox 360 is performing in Europe" in response to earlier claims made by Reggie Fils-Aime that the console was underperforming.

Speaking about the Wii's competition, the Nintendo of America boss said: "360 is selling well only in one country: UK. Across the rest of Europe, it is not performing well."

But Microsoft disagrees, telling CVG: "We're very happy with how Xbox 360 is performing in Europe. We do not release figures by country, but we are on target to meet our goal of 12 million consoles sold worldwide by the end of June 2007, have sold more than 10.4 million consoles globally as of December 2006, and have built a global Xbox Live community of more than 6 million people.

what happened with the Wii360 relationship?

eques judicii4257d ago

the wii60 was started by peter moore, saying that if someone bought both systems then they would have a system to show to guests (wii) and a personal system to play (360) and that by buying both they would be able to spend less than the price of the ps3. Reggie got very offended that any other system would sit next to the wii and has since gone on to bash the 360 at every opportunity. Just like what he did here... its kinda sad, microsoft compliments ninty and ninty insults microsoft...

You go into console shops like GAME & Gamestation and there there are loads of X360 been traded in for PS3's. Face it Microsoft will never win the Nex Gen console war from sales only from US market.

Anyway, like I predicted these company heads would use the news today to promote their fanboyish bs. Lol, bet this gets more interesting as the day goes on with more back adn forth and as Sony can't let any talk occur if they are not included. They wonder where the fanboy crap comes from! Well, at least these two have huge stakes in the success of their product (incentives and bonuses in huge contracts). Oh well, As the World Turns, (video game edition) keeps on trucking.
