Miyamoto: Home Is A Clone

Nintendo legend, Shigeru Miyamoto, played down the originality of Sony's newly-announced Home service for PlayStation 3, saying: "What they're doing already exists in one form on the PC."

"We are trying to do something that is different and create something that hasn't been there before," Miyamoto told mercurynews.com.

If it's going to propel developers to create content on the strength of HOME, in the end that's what's gonna matter, because one thing that everybody can agree on is that a consoles strength is in its games.

PS: The DOA lobbie is in game in other words u need a disks to use it u cant just turn on ur xbox and run it. same with phantsy star online u need a disk. they are not sub-OS. can u do the same stuff u can do on the dash board as u can do in DOA or Phantasy star didnt think so.

Nintendo almost had a comeback with their Mii's, but Sony stole their thunder and now they want to complain. Video games are a progression of Board Games but does that mean we shouldn't play video games? Nintendo is really looking ridiculous, they should just STFU and work on getting some online games for the Wii out.
A lot of people on here keep saying that they don't need Home, they only want games, blatantly ignoring the fact that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE HOME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO!!!! Personally if I had a 360 and I knew LIVE was already so much better than Home I wouldn't even bother coming on here discussing Home, I would be online playing GRAW 2 or something. I see the presence of so many 360 fanboy haters as concern on their part.
Nintendo needs to move past Zelda and Mario and realize that the KIDS who played their games before have grown up and need more mature games, I could care less about Zelda.
Sony owned the GDC and a lot of people can't stand it. Home should be cool, if you don't like it don't use it, its not like they are charging for the thing, go on your XMB, load up your game and be happy.
If you think Home is a stolen idea go do some research on almost any IP and you will realize that it probably has many "borrowed" ideas in it. Innovation at time has a lot of imitation, Nintendo is just mad because Sony took their idea and improved it exponentially. If they had the idea first, they should have implemented it, I have just heard hate from Nintendo toward Sony but they have furnished no documentation showing the the Mii idea was going to be much bigger. The fact remains that they did not do it and Sony did, its over.

Starwars Galaxies has the apartment system and many, MANY, other MMOs have lobby style system. Sony Online Entertainment runs Starwars Galaxies along with other MMOs.
